Continuing on my information gathering for my RPG campaign, I'd like to hear about favorite NPC's. Just for your info, I've settled on Midgar for the start of my campaign. Makes sense seeing as how the game starts there and it's freakin' massive to work with.

Personally I like the Reno because he's entirely unprofessional. I may have him accompany the PCs on parts of the campaign as it goes. My story takes place in the sequel era, after Shinra is basically defunct, so he can be a free agent. Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus timeline may or may not apply, just for more freedom.

So all that being said, let me hear your opinions. Thanks smile.gif

I like Chocobo Sage no matter how purple, confused, and Alzheimersish he is. (not-words are awesome!)'

Also I like all the Turks, but Reno is my favorite.

I think I'm definately going to write Reno in as a returning character. He's just so freakin' awesome. I think I'm actually going to make him a good guy in this one though. I've decided to set it 10 years after FF VII, to give it some space after the main game and AC so I can give it a really fresh start and to help keep the main cast out of the front line of the story

Including Reeve might be useful; as the former head of Shin-Ra's Urban Development department, he'd have extensive knowledge of the city's construction. If you include Dirge in the history, then he's also the head of the World Restoration Organization, providing a whole new set of resources.

Making some of the summons a part of the story might be interesting, especially a humanoid one like Shiva or Ifrit.

Best NPC bottom line is definatley Shera Cid's assistant, she's always been useful and sacrifices herself so honorably.

I almost forgot about Reeve. He would make a great informant about the city and such. And summons would be great, but I haven't decided how to translate them into the tabletop RPG realm

And it would probably be easy to move Shera to Midgar if I wanted to include her earlier. Or have her in contact via PHS

True, but I think I could make really good use of Reeve. I really never think of him because of the "clever" spy thing

Ahh, you're running a tabletop game. Is it D&D rules or something else? Marlene might be good to work with, since she's only four years old in VII she's practically a blank slate for you to work with. Plus I always thought she was a cute kid, it's just that Advent Children kinda ruined her (along with everyone else)

D&D rules, yes. And thank you for bringing up Marlene. I always forget about her, she would be perfect as a young fighting NPC. Especially with a father like Barret, you know she'll have Materia and weapons at her disposal from his adventures

I'm gonna have to take a seat on the Rude train too. He's professional and kickass, and real slick. He's got the quick fists, but at the same time, take a look at that guy! he's huge!

Along with Reeve, i'm gonna have to set myself up in the Reno section, cocky and hilarious, plus he knows how to give a kick ass wallup with that electrical staff of his.

Yeah, I have to figure out how much damage that thing does. I know electric damage is a big duh, but base damage is gonna be a little tricky. I want him to be able to make a difference, but not be overpowering
