This stupid screen of just space and stars has come up, how do I get off it? If I want to continue playing (to beat emearald weapon etc) will I have to just reset my playstation and play from before beating sepiroth?

Also because I'm an idiot I didn't get the huge materia from that rocket (the one where you have to work out the code) and according to the CoN guide you can dig it up in bone villiage, has anyone ever managed to do this? If so tips about where you dug would be nice

The guide was wrong - there's no way to pick up any huge materia again later (a fact we'd flagged up correctly in the Lost Forevers guide so we were contradicting ourselves). I've corrected the walkthrough so it no longer mentions this as a possibility.

You're right about part one, too - you'll have to reset and open your last save if you want to go back and do more in the game after finishing it.
