Ive looked everywhere and am still stuck, but im at the part where you have to jump between buildings and i went as far as i could up one to obtain the theives gloves then went back down two flights of stairs and jumped across the buildings and theres only one other place for me to go on that side and its just a hallway with nothing at the end and if you go left at the beginning you go up a flight of stairs and are behind a counter....what do i do???

Here's what CoN has to say that isn't too exact, but just look for another building to jump to. all the random encounters can be super frustrating, so you might want some anger management people on hand.

As for the question... Isn't their a staircase at the end of that room that goes up and around to other side of that counter... Or I am thinking about the wrong thing all together...

Watch out for those dancers and their bolt using either way.
