Everyone hates how the Onion Knight has no abilities for their class and can't even equip any abiities. So I'm quite curious on what kind of abilities do you think the creators should had given the Onion Knight. I played War of the Lions for a while so I know how it is. Anyways, its ovious that everyone would have allowed the Onion Knight to equip abilities. So here are the abilities that I thought of:

Equip Knives - Can equip knives regardless of job
Equip Flails - Can equip flails regardless of job
Equip Knight's Swords - Can equip knight's swords regardless of job
Equip Robes - Can equip robes regardless of job
Equip Bows - Can equip bows regardless of job
Equip Staves - Can equip staves regardless of job
Equip Rods - Can equip rods regardless of job
Equip Poles - Can equip poles regardless of job
Equip Books - Can equip books regardless of job
Equip Ninja Blades - Can equip ninja blades regardless of job
Equip Instruments - Can equip instruments regardless of job
Equip Cloths - Can equip cloths regardless of job
Equip Fells Swords - Can equip fell swords regardless of job
Equip Onion - Can equip Onion equpments regardless of job
Equip Hair Adornments - Can equip hair adornments regardless of job
Equip Bags - Can equip women's bags regardless of job

As you can see, all the abilities I listed are the Equip _____ Support skills. However, when you think about it, the Onion Knight can equip every equipment in the game so its amazing that the creators didn't think of that. Since Onion Knight can equip every equipment in the game, why not give them the abilities to share those special equipments with the rest of the jobs. I'm leaving the creative skills for the rest of you fans out there.

In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. Once you know their pattern, you can build a counter strategy.

Does anyone know what abilities, if any, the original Onion Knights had at their original FF appearances? Otherwise, being an Onion Knight should allow that character to optionally choose two action ability sets that character has learned, whether it'd be Arithmeticks, Jump, Mime, or whatever two the player decides. They should at least have some innate abilities like Counter, Attack Boost, or whatever.

I do like how the Onion Knights look, though.

Onion Knights don't have any natural abilities in FF III and their stats are the worst in the game. They can equip any weapon and armor, but they have the best armor and weapon in the game as exclusive equipment; if you give an Onion Knight a full set of Onion equips, then they're the strongest characters in the game. They're a hidden class in the DS remake, and they changed around quite a bit, but still have the same strengths - they can equip anything, including Onion equipment.

I think that War of the Lions did a pretty "faithful" version of the Onion Knight, but the lack of abilities is a little bit frustrating.

my personal experience with onion knights has made me hate them very much. their speed is crap, their move and jump is only 3! yes, they DO have good stats when equiped with the onion equipment, but i still see them as a pain in the ass. i never use them, unless i am ad-hoc-ing in a melee battle. but still their crappy movement lets my brother run circles around me with a 9-move thundergod cid equiped with an excalibur. mad.gif

onion arts? would be a good idea. seeing as how the onion knight is solely based on physical attack power and defense, they should have implemented some kind of system to the same effect as cyans swordtech ability in FF6. raw physical power.

OR at the least, they could have had some basic support abilities like that of the squire, to help raise their stats in-battle.

arts of war, reflexes, dual wield, and move +3 on an onion knight (in addition to the onion arts abilities) would make even cid seem like a lvl 2 chemist.

well even if the onion knight had no abilities, they should be able to equip some that have already been learned, from secondary all the way down to movement, the drawback being there was no innate?
