These are just some questions I had about the game...they may not really have answers:
1. In the very beginning, when Terra, Biggs, and Wedge look over Narshe from the hill, why and how do they get to the southern entrance of Narshe? I mean, to get to the hill you have to pass through the city...so it seems like they already would have. 2. How come Cyan and the other Doma soldier were the only survivors of Doma? I mean, they were out in the open, and watched everyone die. Kefka said that anyone who touched it would be "pushing up daisies...Uwee hee hee", but some of the other Domans were above the water, in towers. Also, how did the king and Cyan's family and the other soldiers inside die from it? I guess I can see Cyan surviving because he was the toughest, but what about the other Doma centry? 3. What happened to all the ghosts who were chaising Sabin, Cyan, and Shadow on the Phantom Train after they disconnected the carts? Did they never reach the afterlife? How sad! 4. If Figaro Castle sank beneath the sand the day of the cataclysm, and got stuck for a year, how on earth did everyone survive? That's all I can think of right now, but I'll probably have more later. I know, you could answer all of the questions with "It's just a game." But I'm curious about what you think. ![]() |

Here are answers as far as i can explain it:
1) not the same south hill...just a reuse of the background and scenery because the hills look very similiar throught the mountains. 2) Kefka said that touching it would have them "pushing up dasies", but this was simply to minimalize amount of words used in the speaking i think. Usually, poison can kill from smell, touch, and even breath (they assume you figure this out i guess) See above Some soldiers i believe survived...there couldnt have just been a few guarding, but i think they didnt show anyone to make the atmosphere kind of bleak to emphasize Cyan's pain. 3) After the train drops you off, the train is still intact (carts reconnected by ghost train and all...) so the ghost theoretically make it there safely... 4) A castle usually has a LOT of materials saved (ie food) in case of emergency, war, etc... Remember, this is all speculation from me, but a lot of it is thought up... -------------------- <DrkMagimaster282> MWAHAHA. Okay, thanks!
But in #4, I guess what I mean is, how could they breathe for a year underground? |

They could have found a way out to the surface, but perhaps some of them were waiting for their king to return, and they probably knew he would take care of the situation...that's the only speculation I can offer.

i thought the water in doma was their actual water source! there's a little pond on the inside that i'd always thought was a well
i mean, the kingikins was inside, miles from the outer world of air, flowers and birdies, so i just thought that they'd all drunk it, and that the survivors just weren't thirsty or maybe had cantines i also believe that the figarons (figarae? figarese? figarish?) might have been in south figaro or kohaligan, maybe saw it and went home! -side note, does anyone else think edgar was immesurably improved as gerad? i saw him and thought, wow, physical character development, AWESOME -------------------- The Lemon of the Open Spoon awaits you at the Altar of The Chocolate Drum, in a world of Missed Calls, Deleted Messages, Late Buses and Cremated Toast "Due to budgetary concerns, the light at the end of the tunnel has been temporarily shut down" |

As far as surviving underground goes, I have no doubt whatsoever that they could survive, an important function of the castle is that it can go underground, so I'm sure that making or already having several airshafts is no problem, (I mean, even criminals made their way out.) plus the stores of food previously mentioned.

Figaro would have had some way of maintaining a good air supply. You would think that such a mechanical marvel would have had an air converter.
Or they could've attached a snorkle-like device onto the Castle just in case they had to stay underground indefinately. Okay. I have another question:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view How can Kefka kill Leo with one...did he stab him? Anyway, how can he kill Leo that easily, but when Celes stabs Kefka, he just whines but seems to be just fine? |

Quote (Ultimaniac @ 26th June 2008 20:33) Okay. I have another question: Possible spoilers: highlight to view How can Kefka kill Leo with one...did he stab him? Anyway, how can he kill Leo that easily, but when Celes stabs Kefka, he just whines but seems to be just fine? It said spoilers in the title of the topic, so I won't put any. But there will be lots. Probably since Kefka backstabbed him with a 255 bat. pwr. knife whereas he himself got stabbed by some lousy Mithril dagger. And since this was the first point of damage (apart from brain damage) he received in his life, he flinched like a little girl. And if that's hard to believe, then remember that being wounded, he walked into the center of the Warring Triad's circle which probably infused him with some kind of power. Though in my opinion, you shouldn't take everything that happens in the game that literally. Honestly, there are some questions I could add to the list but the only way they can be answered is by speculation: 1. How does the Falcon exit the underground tomb, which has somehow remained fully intact with all the world being reformed, from under the sea? 2. How did Setzer get the ship restored and placed inside the tomb in the first place, considering it is widely accepted that Daryl crash-landed the Falcon somewhere on the Triangle Island? 3. If Celes doesn't attempt suicide, how can she recognize the pigeon that was flying past the Falcon when it first emerged? And much more. When I see the Falcon emerging from the water, I smile and think to myself that theoretically, there is a way to get a blimp out of an underground tomb, so it really doesn't matter HOW they did it, just that it can be done. And even if it isn't possible, I can imagine they just found it someplace else. It's not these details of the plot that matter (for me, at least), just the interaction of it's characters. The whole emerging-from-the-water thing is probably to make the scene more grand. IMO. P.S: Though Figaro Castle still remains a mystery. I never thought of it until now, but when you enter the Castle with the thieves and all, there are some soldiers on the ground who say "no air... can't... breathe...". Could they have been lying there for a year? ![]() Figaro Castle couldn't have decided to travel between the deserts of Kohlingen and Figaro not long before Gerad's and Celes' entrance because the thieves escaped from there and in any case, they did it when the castle was in Figaro desert, since that's the only way they could have gotten to South Figaro and Nikeah. Moreover, one of the thieves in the pub of South Figaro says: "With no air to breathe, the people of Figaro Castle must all be...", meaning the thieves knew that those guys had no air to breathe when they escaped their cells, meaning they were lacking air for the very long time it took the thieves to get to Nikeah and back into Figaro with Gerad. It also amuses me that an entrance to a cave was conveniently placed right behind a jail cell. Moreover, none of the suffocating guards (even the one that was lying in the jail room) managed to use the cave to get to air or freedom, or on the other side - monsters hadn't used the newfound passage to enter the castle. Judging from the random encounters in the castle interior, however, they actually did - but then, why are the guards still alive when you encounter them? Whew... this can go on forever. ![]() This post has been edited by goldragon88 on 26th June 2008 21:24 |

Goldragon88 had a very good point. All of his notations are accurate. But we never saw the actual falcon leave so we don't know how he did. We only know that it happened.
It's like the Mayan mysteries: we don't know where they went and we don't know how they did the things they did! or do we...? ![]() -------------------- .¸•´¨¯¨*°•.,¸¸,•´¦♥¦`•,¸¸,.•°*¨¯¨´•¸.
