I like Terra's personality yes.

Celes's...... hehe..... dang you fan arts.....

and I personally think Relm would be the hottest of all of them when she gets older.

I voted Terra.... like 1 month ago, and now I finally replied LOL

And that is the only reason why I want FFVI remade. They need to fix her clothing. (Wouldn't a General wear armor or something else protective and less...revealing?)

It's something to complain about, 'cause all of the boys drool over her. She does have a lot of value as a character if they stopped staring at her...

I also am tied between Celes and Terra, but i like Terra more simply for her character and personality, how she doesnt remember anything as time moves along and discovers facts along with us, the audience, throughout the game.

Plus, i love the Amano art that goes along with her!

Terra. She's the only female I like in the game lol. I guess next time I play VI I'll give Celes another try... Heh, I was happy with the Locke X Terra pairing and then Celes came and stole Locke from Terra DX So I've never been particularly fond of her. Hehe.

Celes never "stole" Locke from Terra, as Locke and Terra never seemed to have developed a relationship. One could argue that they did, but there is a major element that is apparent that hints that Locke is just protecting her because of his own complexes; Locke keeps on promises Terra his protection, and never thinks or acts like it's something more. I think, after he meets Celes, he starts to develop an attraction towards her, and it's quite palpable that he likes her(he blushes during the opera scene, there's a lot of interaction between the two of them).

I'm not saying that you're completely wrong, but to say that you dislike Celes because she did something that no one can be completely sure of is a bit...prejudiced.

(I apologize, because Celes was the first fictional character that I really admired.)

I always hated Celes AND Relm.

I really wasn't much older than Full_Metal_Mage was when I played FFVI. I thought Locke was really stupid back then (because of what he did in the MagiTek factory), so I know what you mean when you say when you had a lot of first impressions that sort of stuck. Of course, I have no right to control what characters you can and cannot like.

I admit I thought Terra and Locke were going to be the main couple in the game, too. There always seems to be one major couple among all of the characters.

(By the way, Vexdefile, it was an excellent idea to tell your stories through drawings. Very cool.)

aww, can only choose from the playable female characters, but if i was able to say i would choose Daryl, she is such a great character, but from the main characters, it would have to be Celes mainly because of her outfit and relationship with Locke.

Celes might be my favorite Final Fantasy character ever. Careful, I'm the verbose type (I get a lot of "tl;dr).

Now, before I get into why I think this, understand that one of FF VI's major motifs is hope - Banon asks Terra to be the last ray of hope, Leo's death and Kefka's reign plunge the world into despair, and the party's victory over Kefka give the world new hope. The game is all about hope lost and restored.

At the game's outset, Celes appears to be a supporting character whose major role is that of a suspicious maybe-traitor and love interest for Locke. Over the course of the first half of the game, Celes's character change is from a relatively icy former Imperial general to a much more feminine character who displays remarkable emotional strength. Plus, she has some truly timeless scenes at the opera house and at the solitary island.

But that's not even what really matters - what makes Celes the most important character in FF VI is that she becomes the last ray of hope that Banon was counting on Terra to be. Celes is the person that travels the post-apocalyptic world to re-recruit everyone, not Terra. While Terra is a character that is the focus of a large part of FF VI's story and undergoes an impressive character transformation, she is one of the characters recruited by Celes, not the ray of hope that unites the scattered team members. And that's why Celes is in my opinion the best character in FF VI, and perhaps even the "main character" of FF VI. She's that last ray of hope.

I feel the same way, BlitzSage. However, I feel that you get a little piece of her zealous personality through the few scenes you see of her. It's just not enough to say that she's your favorite character, and is similar to saying that Rachel is your favorite character. You see so little of both of them.

And thank you, laszlow, for that statement on Celes. It's not all about the bathing suit (or green leotard), and, unfortunately, all the guys think it is. This makes me feel like I'm the only female Celes fan on the planet. I get attached to characters who are anti-social, but slowly, change their ways.

I can see how Celes could be the main character of the story. Terra seems to be the major plot device, her character drives the story, so without her there isn't one. But her character is pretty easy to define and fairly one-dimensional. Terra can be easily understood from an early point.

While Terra drives the plot, Celes is free to convey the messages in the story. She is far from being one-dimensional, and her story is complex. She goes through deeply emotional storylines with both Kefka and Celes.

And your right laszlow. By the end of WoB she takes over the story and assembles the team.

And with her scenes on the Solitary Island and in the Opera, she shows that she is very weak emotionally, and needs encouragement. She starts out with little hope, but gains hope in the end.

Yeah, that is true. There have been many characters who have left impressions in fewer scenes. I just wish there were more, because I really couldn't connect with her, sadly.

Relm is definitely more spunky than the other two female. She's the type that loves to mess with people, and manipulate them, while having fun. I think characters who have no respect for authority are interesting in their own right.

It seems to me that this discussion is going in a wrong way. Remember were discussing a "favourite" FF6 female character, not "best" FF6 female character. I am aware of all the drawbacks Relm has, both as a person and as a team member, and I am aware of all the greatness of Terra and Celes, but Relm is still my favourite FF6 female character. It's just a matter of preference, I don't like main character types by default and I like girls who are direct enough to make a king shut his mouth. Just keep to the topic.

She's the only character who really is sarcastic like Sabin is. They both have a great sense of humor.

Relm cause shes so SPUNKY! and I think she is like me (I lived with my grandfather while he was alive, and was punished a few times for having a smart mouth, and love art.). So yeah...Relm Rules.

I wish we had gotten to know Relm better. She was definitely overshadowed by Terra and Celes, but I think it would've been cool if Relm had had a bigger part.

I voted Celes. Why?

Terra has no backbone/personality/whatever. Explained further here.

Relm is just kind of annoying, to me. ^^;

So Celes it was. Unlike Terra, she has personality...but unlike Relm, too, she doesn't have so much it grates on your nerves.
