in the past month or so, ive realized how much i love this band. i always liked a couple of their songs, but never really listened until Echos, Silence, Patience, and Grace...especially after hearing The Pretender. since then i've also found some of my favorite songs of all time...namely Everlong, Stacked Actors, My Hero, and Gimme Stiches (not to mention most of their latest album). i actually am dumbfounded at how much i love this band, so am i alone in this, or is anyone else a fan?

I remember when the foo fighters came out it was a big sigh of relief for me. I felt that there was a void in the music industry and that not many good bands were coming out, then came the foo fighters. Thanks David Grohl.

I saw a week ago, and they played a lot ot their stuff (even 'tho Against Me! and Serj Tankian took an hour and a half to open) and even got to talk to the crowd a bit. Their percussionist on tour (not their drummer, Taylor) played an awesome triangle solo. They're amazing live, and it's a miracle Dave Grohl hasn't lost his voice yet (he loves to scream)!

I love almost all of their singles, and the whole Nothing Left to Lose album is something I can listen without skipping any songs. One by One and In Your Honor are just as good. Generator and Everlong...those songs could never be duplicated. ESPG is a excellent album, but their other albums seem more unified in sound

You know, it's funny, I've been a fan of every single I've heard them put out - at least that I can recall - but yet I just can't ever seem to get into their albums as a whole. I've never been able to figure out why, because there's no reason for it.

Though, as per a thread I think I'm about to bump, I think I might well karaoke "Monkey Wrench" next weekend. smile.gif

They were amazing just so you know. I have not been that impressed by any band thus far. I'm more of a weezer fan personally, however they can't rock out like the foo fighters. Overall amazing show Dave really knows how to rock. They played the best version of hero I've ever heard them play. Great show...

Heh, Dave Grohl went to my high school for awhile... but I think he graduated from another one nearby.

Anyhow, sure, I like the Foo Fighters. They aren't my favorite band of all time or anything, but I'd pay to see them live, sure. I have only heard radio play of their recent album, so I should probably pick it up some time or at least download some tracks.

Not crazy about them, I mean, they've got some good songs here and there but generally the more mainstream media hits are as far as I'm willing to listen anymore. I mean, they aren't bad or anything, just not a band I can listen to very often. Still, they're a hell of a lot better than Nirvana ever was.

Funny, apparently somebody bought me a ticket to see the Foo Fighters with them (over a month ago) and didn't tell me til yesterday. So I'll be seeing them this upcoming Monday.

Makes me wonder what the probability is for seeing Brian May at a Foo Fighters concert.

Their only good CD was their self titled. Everything else outside of a few singles have been complete garbage.

I was really into them when I was a lot younger. I think The Colour & the Shape was my favourite back then, and I still look back fondly on a few tracks, particularly 'Everlong' and 'My Hero.' Every now and then they come out with pretty damn great pop single, 'Best of You' in particular, 'Times Like These' and that one from Orange County, but generally speaking, they seem to have been doing the same thing for the last decade or so. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but while I don't dislike their music, they're stuck in a bit of a generic rock rut. I guess they've got their own thing going on, and they're never going to make a record that excites me, but when they're good at what they do, they're kinda enjoyable.

Well the Foo Fighters Kicked ass last night.

Started off with some fan favorites. Even more energy than on the albums, and then as the songs progressed they got more improvisational, had a jam called "skin and bones",a violinist, dueling guitars, and a triangle solo. David Grohl also has a really good sense of humor.

One hell of a concert.

The Foo Fighters definitely benefit greatly from a likeable and personable frontman.
