Quina was brilliant! He might have been a bit pointless but I thought he gave the game a more relaxed feel. More interesting than other characters anyway *Penelo*. I assumed Quina was well liked.

In the PAL version we play the game a fifth slower than everywhere else so, if I'm right, VIII would be faster; and we haven't a hope of getting Excalibur II.

I know I'm being an arse but I thought those two would be worth mentioning. I totally agree that unique skillsets are a plus. Linearity is something that a lot of RPGs overlook or deem outdated, but, as in FFIX's case, it can be very effective.
