Yes.

Is that really all you wanted to ask? The question's been asked before, and it's kind of a lame question anyway - how are we supposed to predict whether you'll agree?

In any event, yes. Play it.

Yes, it is. If I am going to invest my time into a game, I mine as well get a wide array of opinions.... Sorry if it was a "lame" way to ask a question; Sorry if I like to be laconic.

I'll be laconic in my answer, then.

Hope that was super helpful.

It's probably worth owning either way of you're a Final Fantasy fan. Excellent storyline, characters, gameplay, artwork and music. I'd say it's definitely one of the best. But your taste might be different from mine..

the game has a ridiculously intricate story, there is much to learn in the real of FFT so if you like a game based on the story of it then yes it is extremely well writen. however you might not like the battle system, me though i love the strategy style fighting over just mashing x a lot.

I'm sure you can tell from the considerably huge fanbase that this title has that it's certainly worth your time. Of course, it might be a bit difficult to get your hands on a PSX copy of the game, but with the PSP version out, more people should be able to enjoy the title. It might be a problem if you don't have a PSP yourself especially since the cost would be around $200 for both the system and the game combined. You might be able to find a copy of the original game for cheaper if you look around, though, depends on which version you want to play.

No, Final Fantasy Tactics is not available for PC or Mac. You can illicitly download an ISO file and play it with a playstation emulator, but don't ask us for help on that. Just find a copy of the PS1 or PSP version.

I own two copies of the PS version and I'm currently playing the PSP version, but
if I could emulate this on my laptop, I totally would. In fact, I'll feel more secure in
the shape of the world when it's finally available through something like Gametap.
Trust not faulty machines! Great games are virtual hardware that must be freed
from shackle of disc and readers!

ADDING:
Just got another person addicted! He's a thirtysomething gamer that never tried it,
until I demonstrated it at work on a lunch break (using the flatTV normally reserved
for training vids!). Once people see the depth of gameplay, it's not surprising to
find them playing on their own after a while. Bringing the PStwo in is how I share
all the great games most people missed, like Katamari and Persona3. Coworkers
queue up to spend a lunch break outside our normal departmentalized worlds!
