I haven't completely finished this yet, but I seriously don't understand why some people complain about the story. Anyone want to shed some light?

I'm closing this topic. If you choose to reopen it, do so with a post clarifying the level of spoiler material you're comfortable with receiving as answers. I could tell you what I didn't like about FF7's story, but "haven't completely finished yet" doesn't give me enough information to decide how vague to be about some of the plot elements.
