My ffIII is massively freaking out. This is the most spectacular glitch show i've ever seen... all of a sudden in a regular battle everything shifted into weird world and my characters started out as just terra in morph mode, except she was dark magenta with red eyes, and her attacks included Sneeze witha yellow S and other strange enemy moves and moves ive never heard of. The enemy seriously looked exactly like a bong, no joke... now general leo is on my team, my enemy is some strange enemy prototype that keeps shifting forms, and he's pulling insane laser light show asteroid moves ive never seen before... i just thought id mention it because this is the only time this has ever happened in having beat this game like 5 times.. . and now i just tried to warp out.. and everrything ended.. damn. Lol this game is so raw.. the programming is excellent

Never heard of this happening. If you have any pics, maybe someone else on this board could help you. I'm not really a tech person, so I'm just going to guess that either your cartridge or your SNES is dirty.
![]() -------------------- FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver. |

Hmmm . . .
No offense protoMog but this sounds suspect to me. -------------------- The FF6*10 webring celebrates FF6's tenth anniversary with fanart (japanese). |

Weird glitches like this happen sometimes with the SNES cart. I've never heard of one quite this spectacular, though, or one that wasn't prompted by a known bug, like the sketch glitch.
If you can reproduce it, tell us how. Otherwise, we probably can't help you. ![]() -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

Quote terra in morph mode, except she was dark magenta with red eyes Quote The enemy seriously looked exactly like a bong, no joke... These alone make me doubt the truth of this. As far as I know, Terra has no in-game sprite in dark magenta so I don't understand how that could happen. Also, I can't recall any enemies that look like a bong. I highly doubt that this is true. If you can replicate it somehow, post a picture. I'd be interested in seeing it. |

I can relate. Something similar happened a long time ago when I borrowed my friends FFIII cart (this was like 10 years ago). In the WoR when fighting Gigantoads, all of a sudden, I lost a character, some went berserk, the background went out, and some chars turned into Umaro. It was freaky. I gave the game back the next day (didn't want my friends mom to think I "broke" it!)

I can back him up, I used to glitch my game on purpose using game genie and would often get some crazy results. The game mixes up the sprites so you can get some pretty unique looking characters.

This is one of the known effects of the Sketch bug, the most run-of-the-mill of FF3 bugs.
Quote These alone make me doubt the truth of this. As far as I know, Terra has no in-game sprite in dark magenta so I don't understand how that could happen. The game grabs palettes (sprite colour sets) from a different place than the sprites itself. If the game goes haywire, it can grab palettes from odd places, so any combination is possible. -------------------- |

I think they bear a slight resemblance, kinda. It would explain why the jar is magic though, and why they're always hard up for elixers like your average druggy is for crack... >_> ![]() Even if it was a Magic Jar, that'd make little sense if it's the sketch bug, 'cause you can't use sketch when fighting those. Can you give more specifics Protomog? Like, what version you were playing, what party you were using and what battle you were fighting? It'd go a long way in verification if somebody wanted to try it themselves. -------------------- |
