I didn't use him much, but I'm sure if you leveled him up and got his Slots Limit Break, he'd serve as a pretty useful character... The only reason I'd see why he isn't is because either his Slots Limit has the potential to do absolutely nothing, from destroying you enemies, or killing your allies. And I don't seem to remember his physical attack being to strong either.

I love Cait Sith. His Dice and Slots Limits are fun to use. I mainly make him the "master manipulator" with the Hypno-Crown and Manipulate materia as well as giving him the status attack materia and most of the summons to make him a pretty impressive mage.

Of course he can be useful! smile.gif He's the second best magic-user in the game, and has great HP Growth, so he can use lots of magic materia. His strength is good too, so you can use him as a deadly mage kitty or a physical fighter. =3

His Limits are unreliable, but they still do solid damage (unlike Vincent...), although they aren't as spectacular as some other characters'. Dice can almost be guaranteed to do 9,999 at high enough levels, though that isn't too much as compared to the wacky Limit Breaks. Slots has a variety of effects that encompass damage, recovery, status enhancementf, killing any and all enemies, or even killing you! It seems to be random, unlike FFVI's slots which can be manipulated. There doesn't seem to exist any trick for that in FFVII.

His Ultimate Weapon, the HP Shout (and make sure you get it if you plan on using him, it's a nice weapon!) has the same effect as Cloud's Ultima Weapon, that is, it deals more damage depending on how much more HP you have. And remember how he has lots and lots of HP? =3 So he can still do stellar damage with his attacks, regardless of how much Magic Materia he has.

Well, that should be everything. I don't think I forgot anything. But yes, Kitten Sith isn't a bad character. smile.gif

Cait Sith's Limit Breaks? I had a quick look back on one of my saves and see he only has two, I don't think this a glitch but is there anything you can do to fill them in? huh.gif

He only has Dice and Slots. Apparently there's some wierd bug where he can gain these two messed up other limits, in the Japanese versions, but they don't really do anything.

I hate Cait Sith. He has awkward limit breaks that are far dumber than Tifa's slot machine limit break. I had no use for him because since Materia could be used on anyone, I decided to strip him off the Toad materia and the Manipulate materia and use it on a much more useful character, like Cloud or Cid.

He is the absolute least favorite of FFVII and many people agree with that. I pretend Cait Sith is a cheerleader because the only thing he's good at is not being useful!

ROFL.

I dislike Cait Sith as well. Only time I used him was in Corel Prison because at that time he was the strongest char I had (level 16 or so among level 14s). When I beat Dyne I never used him again.

I like Cait Sith, he's fun to have around now and then, he's not always in my party but I do use him quite a bit, and he is more usefull (for me at least) than Aeris or Yuffie or Red XIII, a put him about even with Cid and Berret in how much I used them and how useful I found them

The problem is if you don't level him up at all when you get him then you might struggle at the part where you are forced to use him (gas chamber scene)

the only thing worse than being a Cait Sith fanboy is being Chou.

you can use Cait Sith if you want to, he has some of the funniest lines in the game.
There are just more substantial characters out there like Cid and Barret. So I hardly ever use him.

I actually found Cait Sith to be quite useful. He has good magic stats and generally versatile as far as the decent physical damage is concerned. I usually made him the blue mage of the party and used him frequently my last play-through.

Yes, I also love giving him Enemy Skill. biggrin.gif

It's perfect because he starts out with Manipulate...it all comes full circle. tongue.gif

I had Cait Sith in my final party along with Vincent and Cloud when I battled Sephiroth.

I made Cait Sith my physical powerhouse and damage magnet, basically super-increasing his HP and keep having him Cover for Vincent and Cloud.

Of course, my friends thought I was insane but I beat Sephiroth on the first try...and Cait Sith was the only one alive, heh, heh, heh laugh.gif

He was never the best in my party, but he's not bad. He has decent stregth, and dice is one of my favorite limits. I didn't know about the 2nd highest magic thing. I asume Aerith is number 1.

Cait Sith.... wasn't the most useful character, though he is more useful than some. I brought him along for one part, just because I felt bad for never using him. His best point is his quotes.

Aerith has the highest Magic growth. Cloud is second. Cait and Vincent are tied for third. All assuming equal levels.

This is somewhat my fault. When I informed Zeromus_X via PM about Cait's high Magic stats, I had completely forgotten about Cloud.

I rotate my team to keep level parity in normal play so I'll use Cait roughly equally with everyone else. My only irritant is when he has Slots already and steals numerous kills from allies who still don't have 3rd (or 2nd) level limits. He's very much a magic user with the added benefit of high HP, a role reinforced by the fact that Dice damage is completely independent of Attack. A good character for healing and magic oriented battles.
