I'm guessing you don't have the game to try it for yourself. In which case, I have something important to tell you.
GO BUY IT NOW. To answer your question though, yes. If Ramza crystalizes, the game is over. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Besides, FFT handles losing characters differently than other FF games. If you're not aware of how, well, you probably should play the game. ![]() -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

SKip the FFT Advance version. Skip the PSP version. Buy the PSX version. You will fall in love with it, I can almost guarantee you. Then, if you want to wipe the happy memories of the game from your mind, go try the FFT Advance version. The PSP might be ok, but I haven't heard alot about it to date. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

If you want the original feel of one of the greatest RPG's ever made, then get it on the system it was created for, the PSX. If you don't have a PSX, don't buy one just for the sake of playing FFT on it. If you do though, drop the cash to get FFT for it and give it a go. I've got just PSX Version and i can say it's still an infinite Game, that i can never stop to play this game. Finish the game in so many ways, try to find other secret even in dialogues o characters. Try first this game, and you will not that we don't need any Advance or Lion War Edition. -------------------- #1 Italian in The Caves of Narshe :D Mercenary Dark Knight Knight: Great, here comes a crowd! Unlike games where the leader dies its auto-fail (such as Ogre Battle 64), there's a, say, "statue of limitations" on reviving someone, being three action turns. When an ally's HP reaches 0, they are 'Dead' by definition and have those three turns to be revivified before they crystallize and die permanently. Obviously, if Ramza crystallizes, it's game over because that state's irrevokable. Even though he's important to the story, he doesn't get those li'l stars above his head like guests do (which ensures they don't permanently die, sort of like guest units in Tactics Ogre Gaiden warp when defeated).
As a point of reference, FFT Advance ensures that any fallen unit is revived automatically after battle if left alone, except in certain places where law doesn't exist. Bigger safety net in that case. Anyway...that's all. <rimshot> -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

The PSP version is same as the PSX version but has nice shiny new cutscenes, Delita's voice is awesome too!
PSP version is the one I have because I cant afford a £200+ PAL copy of the PSX original. I still have PAL SO2, Suikoden 2, Vandels Hearts 2 and Vagrant Story originals on PSX though ![]() Just dumb luck that I picked those up though; payed less than £5 each for them! -------------------- |

Everyones hitting the mark on three turns and they're permantly dead. with Ramza dead it's game over.
Another thing is if your playing around with a game shark and you happen to make Ramza dismissable, it freezes when you do so. You must have someone in that slot. Just another way you could lose Ramza. And for getting the origanal, it'll be hard to come by so if you already have a PSP, it should be about the same with added content. Or you could just borrow it a little more and decide if you like this kind of game. Tactics is my favorite FF game out of the number. -------------------- Blah Blah Blah Tidal Wave Spam! |
