Is Anyone creating an RPG game from rpg maker, game maker, etc?
I am, I'm creating a game that starts off in a a village in the town of Galthia you are Cloud and in the game you go through various missions and side quests. You also get many characters in the game. I am working on making a demo right now. I will post it when I get the demo. There are lots of Final Fantasy characters in it including FF7 characters, FF6 characters, FF8 Characters, FF9 characters, chocobos, moogles, etc. You can also change character classes in an ancient temple after you reach certain levels. I made it from Rpg Maker 2003. ![]() This post has been edited by Gafgarion the great on 13th November 2007 00:03 -------------------- May fire raise from the earth beneath, into the arrow sent from the heavens, FIRE-BOW! |

I started to make an rpg with "Rpgmaker2001" and was pretty close to getting it done. But I wasn't happy with it, so I scraped it.

Ah, RPG Maker 2003. Those were the days. I remember fiddling around with it about three or four years ago (Meaning I was about 9 or 10) trying to make some Pokemon-esqe game.
![]() I might actually consider doing something like this, I tend to try some crazy things, hehe. I wouldn't use RM2k for this, though, I'd probably hack another game's engine like CT or FF6. I've tried in the past, but it takes lots of time, effort, and planning to complete something. I'm no good at the scripting, so I would just create maps and characters until I got bored with it.
I have, however, done a joined effort in re-telling the FFVI game using a hacking program of some sort (obviously that part wasn't my job, lol). I re-fashioned a lot of sprites to look like new characters - ie, made a Seifer sprite out of Sabin, and a dragoon character out of Celes. It was very difficult considering the limited palletes and shared palletes with other characters. The process was going great until my hacker friend lost a lot of the data on it and was kind of annoyed and upset so he abandoned the project. I'd tell you the basis of the story to it, but it involved a lot of people who visit the FF forum at GameWinners (which I no longer go to), and is offensive to FFVII fans. (it doesn't have as many options as custom programming using C++/java etc, but more than rpgmaker used without programming language-now if you are using rpgmaker with programming language, that's a different story...assuming it's possible) I mainly didn't want FF-like turn based battle system. (do you call it AGS or something?) but go on, it's your topic :3 I'd like to hear more on it- and from others too This post has been edited by Bismark87 on 14th November 2007 03:55 -------------------- I will be there... |
