Quote (Lockpick @ 14th May 2008 02:15) Okay this comic is goooood. ![]() Your art has improved greatly from the first page! Terra looks much less masculine, though she still needs a bit of work, and things just look good altogether - the coloring is done REALLY well and gives it more of a professional feel. Also - I was really surprised with how well the dialogue seems to flow. The soldier coming up to Narshe, for instance, is well-done, like the fight seen where the moogle goes, "Kupo! ![]() I also like the attention to detail - Locke sipping his tea, the crunchy noises in the snow, and him pouring Arvis a new drink. I was all D< at his brown hair at first, because I think of him as grey, but you've got me hooked. I cannot WAIT for more, and I would be happy as all heck if you managed to finish the entire game. I've been waiting for ages for something like this! Wonderful art; keep it up! You can only improve. ![]() @ Lockpick: Glad you're enjoying it. Yeah, not everyone likes the brown hair, but I didn't want him blonde. Perhaps I might work grey hair into the story at a later point. Thanks for your encouragement. @DP: Do you mean some sort of a drop down menu thing? Have you got an example? And to show a preview of the next page: ![]() -------------------- |

Wow, I just read your entire archive up til now, and I'm thoughrily impressed. Good job, I like it. And I agree on the improving, it's cool to see the progress.
PS: lol, Whenever I think Biggs and Wedge, I think Star Wars, but either way, nice work. I've always concluded that he just had gray hair because some people have their hair change like that when they're young. A good example of this is that dude that was on American Idol. I remember reading somewhere that his hair was turning gray when he was in high school, and it's some weird condition. Locke's twenty-five himself, but Locke's AlterEgo, I think that having him get it from stress is something we don't see too often. (People don't age that quickly, do they?) -------------------- |

(I tend to take everything so seriously!) You're right, because some of the best television shows, comics, and books I've read achieve a nice balance of humor and drama. My own half-developed explanation for Locke's premature grey hair could be to use it as a genetic trait of people with ethnic origins in Kohligen. Some people from that region see their hair go grey during late adolescence, and it happened to Locke when he turned 18 or so. Locke dyed it back to its original brown because he thinks it's more "stylish". I don't know how well-thought-out that is, but it's what I've come up with so far. Though I like LockesAlterEgo's humorous take on things. This story is meant to be a serious one, but there's nothing wrong with a little comic relief, especially if it's at the expense of our favorite treasure hunter. ![]() -------------------- |

This comic is awesome, and I hope it's not being discontinued (I haven't seen any recent issues lately). As for the grey hair thing, why not have his hair turn grey as a result of the trauma of the world splitting apart (WoB to WoR)?

Yeah, The Final Fantasy 6 comic is a little over a year old now. Not bad. Thanks to you guys for reading.
About those leafers: I had assumed that their lettuce head was just some kind of scenery that was drawn into the sprite- I didn't think it was part of the leafer's body. So I left it out (read: I forgot about it). Now, just for fun, here's a cheerful Locke from next week's page: ![]() -------------------- |

Your art has really improved. your shading is beaaaauuutiful. <3 The lines being colored instead of just black give it a softer, look, too. and I laughed really hard at all of Edgar poses, cheesy grins, and bad pick-up lines. The comic is coming out so well, please keep it up!

Poor Edgar; he comes off as kind of creepy. Part of the reason of my procrastination is that I recently downloaded and began to play FF6 on an emulator. My friend has also begun a game on my computer, and has taken to giving everyone rapper's names. Locke is "Flav" and Shadow is "Snoop" (presumable because he owns a dog?). I can't remember any of the others at the moment. It is more amusing than it should be. -------------------- |

Hey LockesAlterEgo,
The costume change for Locke is because I wanted a change. I'm going to have the characters change outfits from time to time throughout the game. Sometimes it'll be based off the sprite, sometimes off of Amano's illustrations. Sometimes I'll just mix and match. It's basically to keep visual interest. Plus, with Locke's hair mostly covered, it'll be a smoother transition into giving him gray hair. I figure I'll have him wear the bandana for a while, and at some point he'll take it off, and someone will be like, "oh, Locke, you have grey roots!" and he'll be all "why, yes, everyone from Kohlingen has gray hair! I like to dye mine". Then someone will be like, "oh, I like the gray hair" and he'll be "maybe I'll keep it gray for a while, then!" Terra's stockings aren't really meant to be with heart prints. It's supposed to be more a vague flowery pattern. I think I was just getting lazy drawing them. And Finally, I'll be selling chocobo plushies at Acen this coming May! I thought I'd share a picture for you all. ![]() This post has been edited by orinocou on 22nd April 2009 22:29 -------------------- |
