Did you wait for Shadow at the end of the floating Continent?
I did.
I've read in a walkthrough that I had to wait Shadow to show up.

Of course I've waited for him!
What would I do without him?!?

I did. Never actually used him, but I waited for him so that I could do as much as I could.

Strangely enough, I've succeeded in all my attempts except the most recent, when I just completely forgot to wait for him.  I was like "Oh crap!" but didn't have the patience to go all the way through it again, because I didn't save after I beat Atma.

Yes it happened by accident too. I only had 5 seconds left and I reached the end and Shadow came and I saved him.

Yes, I always waited; Shadow is too cool to go without.  ^_^

...except for the couple of times that I totally forgot about him and jumped.  Like Neal, I can remember at least one time a long time ago that I left without him accidentally, and didn't want to go back because I didn't save.  :(

I can honestly say that I've never forgot to wait for him. The first time I played I did it by accident because I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't jump (I do weird things liike that), and when it got to like 15 secs left I figured I'd better go- that's when I saw the "Gotta wait for Shadow" message.

Well I answered no because the first time I played I didn't use a faq and Shadow said something about fixing the statue problem.  So I thought he could handle it.   :shakeshead:

Of course!  He's way too cool to forget.  Besides, he always becomes the eventual mainstay of my party.

I can say that I have never, ever forgotten to wait for him on the Floating Continent.  I'm a bit of a cheater, though; the first time through someone had already told me to wait for him before I jumped.  But ah, well.  As a result, I have never seen Relm's dream sequence in the Cave in the Veldt.

Yes, every single time I did.  It was until my last play through I actually used Shadow and he's my favorite character now.

Ummm, he's a Ninja.  'Nuff said.

Every time for me.  He's too valuable (and too cool) to not save.  And I usually used him in my main party too.

I've only chosen not to once... just to see what would happen.  Otherwise, I get shadow and kill Cid...  But then again, I've let Cid live once.... just to see what would happen :).

Yes, but I probably would have missed it if I didn't stumble across it in a Walkthrough trying to get through that Floating Continent.

The first time I sat there for a while, but he didn't show up and i had 10 seconds left, so I guess it sucked to be him.

I just can't leave a man behind, especially Shadow : I was actually going back to get him the first time, when I saw that the timer was about to end, so I got back to the airship and saw the cutscene with him...

Same here.  He said something like, "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."  So, thinking that shadow was the brutally honest man, I thought he'd live and I'd see him later if I jumped.  But then I remembered that he is human...

The first time I played, I didn't know you could wait for Shadow.  I didn't care a whole lot, either, because I almost never used him back then.  Once I realized that his shurikens were actually fairly cost-effective, I used him a bit more...but the reason I end up waiting now is for that satisfying sense of completion, not because I like the character.

Hehe. The first time I played, I had no idea that I was supposed to wait for him, and timers in games like this always make me panic. So no, I didn't wait for him. And then, later in the game, I was sad, because I realized that I'd heartlessly left Shadow to die. And I liked him. :(

The second time I played, I made a big goof-up and thought that I was supposed to wait for him before -fighting the boss.- Big mistake. And then I realized "Wait! No! I'm wrong!" And I fought the boss and made it to the edge with -just barely- enough time left to take Shadow with me. Phew. Remember what I said about panicking? ;) However, this second time through the game is still in progress, even though I started it several months ago. Eventually I'll get back to it and see all the stuff with Shadow in Thamasa. ^_^

Like a few others here, I did not wait for him my first time.  I never use faqs or walkthroughs on my first playthrough, and didn't know I wouldn't get him back.  Every other time, and it has been many many times, I have waited for him.
