Quite fun, though Rufus looks a lot like Vincent from Resident Evil Survivor...they both have the same costume, too...anyway its a fun page, not only limited to rpg games, and fun to see..

The Duke Nukem one is uncanny. Too bad no one cares about Duke Nukem at all, and he sucks.

I've seen these before, and they're usally pretty funny. But they violate the golden rule of photocomparisons: The right name is under the right photo!
That kind of ruins some of them, for me. BTW, what the hell are gelflings? Mon-keigh scum of some sort? Edit Seriously. What the fruitcaging hell are they? Where did they come from? Could they go back very soon please? They're from the somewhat popular movie "The Dark Crystal".

Some of these are merely coincidential, and some of these are just stretches of imagination.
However, they did manage to get Vile and Boba Fett. Kudos to that. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Kudos to that. I'm wondering...is the "merely coincidential" part supposed to be a criticism? As opposed to what? The game characters' designs actually being based on the look-alikes? I would certainly hope that wasn't the case for a lot of those comparisons, although the Vile/Boba Fett comparison was so obvious, I wouldn't be surprised if Vile WAS designed after Boba Fett. In fact, I always referred to Vile as Boba Fett Man. Another good comparison, albeit kind of a sad one, is the Laguna/Sandra Bullock. Does nobody else think Sandra kind of looks like a guy? -------------------- |

The Big Boss/Sean Connery similarities are amazing. I'm not sure if it's based off of Connery himself, but it does remind me of Ramius in The Hunt for Red October.

Oh, here's another good one:
Galcian, a major villain from Skies of Arcadia Il Duce from the Boondock Saints, portrayed by Billy Connolly Man, I wish I could have found a better Il Duce shot, like one from the prison scene, but alas, I did my best. Il Duce and Galcian are both friggin' awesome. Oh, and for the record, Billy Connolly's website is really strange. -------------------- |

Quote (Galsic) I'm wondering...is the "merely coincidential" part supposed to be a criticism? As opposed to what? Well, I meant that these 'look-alike' comparisons fall into three categories: 1. They were, most probably, actually meant to look alike. An example is the Vile/Boba Fett pair. 2. They just happen to look alike, but they weren't designed based off each other or something like that. I can't think of a good example right now (and I've gotta get off the computer soon), but an example of this would be that comparison that was in some topic a while ago about Kimahri (I think?) and some other character from some other game. Turns out, they look similar because they're both based on the same idea--in that case, some character from Japanese legend. 3. It's a stretch. Meaning, they don't really look that much alike, but someone probably decided that there was just barely enough similarity to merit such a comparison. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. there's a fourth one, like that Jean Reno "lookalike" from Onimusha 3 on the website: the kind that's based off one another. Jean Reno was the voice actor and character design inspiration for the character that he was compared to on the website. I remember reading an old GMR article on the subject.

Billy Idol as Gau, LOL. Awesome. Billy Idol rules.
And yes, people, the MSX Metal Gear characters were modeled after real actors. Connery was Big Boss, and Michael Dudekoff from American Ninja was Snake. =) Bugenhagen/Glow Worm ![]() Quistis/Kidman is dead-on. Wow. "Violent, Cannibalistic Rapist" on Zell 2 = ROFL. I love Mike Tyson. AHAHAHAHAHA, Stay-Puft as Quina. ROCKS. Vivi/Orko is so obvious. I was Orko for Halloween once. ![]() Chip Zanuff and Billy Idol doesn't count, the character was based on him purposely. :/ |
