What do you prefer? Personally I think active adds more challenge to the game because you get less time to choose your strategy while for beginners wait add more of a learner's perspective on the game. Notice this feature also exists in ChronoTrigger

Wait, i like having time to think before i act, hence doing less mistakes ;p

i like active, because it makes the battle feel more like, well, a battle. taking turns is quite unrealistic, whereas with active it has the feel of you making your move before they kill you. i was worried with FFX at first when i heard it was complete turn based, but it wasn't near as bad as i had expected. i do like the added strategy of being able to switch your characters in and out of battle.

I like wait, because towards the end, when you have tons of stuff and lots of magic spells, and the enemies are really fast and dangerous, it's really annoying to watch your characters die as you're trying to scroll down a page. I really do like the time aspect of the battle system, though, especial Cyan's special ability and the haste and slow spells. The time aspect adds in some very essential strategy and getting the tempo right can be extremely important, and I like that.

In all games I play, I always choose wait. (Chrono Trigger, good example)
No matter if the game is easy, hard or what, sometimes in big fights I tend to choose my options slowly. ![]() -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. Reminds me of you, death knight. Arthas:Shut up you damned ghost. -Warcraft III Kel'thuzad comparing Arthas and Sylvanas Windrunner. |

I always select wait, but I still act like if it was active. I always think what the next character has to do before they are even ready to act and when they're ready, I push all the buttons necessary as fast as possible. The wait option, however, helps a lot when you have to find a certain item in your inventory during the battle and you have no idea where it might be on the list. Also with using rages and lores. With magic less, because there are not that many spells and they don't change their places on the list.

Active. It adds difficulty.

I like Wait since sometimes you'll need that extra time making a decision. Especially for some battles where your party members could be offed at any moment by a boss's super attack (although there aren't many).
And of course the old saying, Quote "I don't want to die while trying to resurrect my healer." -------------------- |

To me, i prefer active, and heres why:
Active: Love it cuz it adds more difficulty and harder decisions in high-stress moments, like timed areas or HARD bosses (heres looking at you Atma!) Wait: adds the ability to think 4 moves ahead and plan your attacks, making it easier, but if youre already strong, you can then make your magic and attack combos between people have FLAIR...make it look cool and all ![]() I prefer the active mode however for the reasons described... -------------------- <DrkMagimaster282> MWAHAHA. I just leave it on the default, which is normally wait. Sometimes, even though I know where all the spells are, I find myself going up and down the list several times anyway. Sometimes I need to think about what I'm going to do next too, so I just go up and down the list. If it were on active, everyone would be dead.

I've always loved the real time feel of active. No waiting for me, sir.

I have to have it on active... I go so fast a lot of times that I get caught up waiting for a monsters turn to react... And I hate losing the chance to gain attack rates on the game...

I'm a wait man personally. If you want action, play an action RPG, that's my feeling.
