So my Cecil SCC has been going really well until Cagnazzo. I'll be doing really well at the start with attacking and using Cura until he hides in his shell, and when he comes out he uses a spell that heals him for 500 HP. Now my base damage is around 100-150 so is there any solution to kill him besides mad lvling? I tried different stratigies like attacking him, him going in his shell and me waiting for him to come out and then I attack again, but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have advice? sa-eng99.gif

My first guess is to use an item to give him reflect? It should bounce off and heal you, unless it's a spell that can't be reflected...

Use a Zeus's Rage. (or whatever they call the thunder-based item now.) Thunder is really the only efficient way to beat him.

If you don't have any Zeus' Rages, you'll have no choice but to level until you can hit for about 300 per attack. At that point, you should be able to outdamage his healing. I forgot if you can get Lit Arrows by this point but if so, they may be a replacement - I've never tried this.

In an SCC, these kinds of items are vital. You'll find a Zeus' Rage in Fabul, as well as in the Ancient Waterway. I think that's all - the enemies who drop them are unaccessible at this point.

On the topic of Cecil SCC, I've attempted one before, but I found myself discouraged in the cave with Trapdoors, as they were using the one-hit death skill. Any suggestions for here, short of temporarily using a second character?

"FF4's SCC overall wasnt too boring, it required some strategy now and then... Up until the sealed cave, then it got tedious as hell.

Why you ask? Because of the doors and the Demon/Evilwall, the doors uses an instant unavoidable unblockable attack that kills you in a hit so i have to level to 75 to be able to kill them before they use it
."

edit: quoted text

The wall required me to level to 85 before i was able to beat it before it reached me, that took an incredibly long amount of time"

here is the video of the demon wall from the cave in a scc

Since the only efficient way of killing TrapDoors I've ever known is using Reflect I suggest MoonVeils or whaever they're called.

Use osmose. What can he do without MP? ;)

No, not really. I think Zombie is just unfamiliar with idea of an SCC. Osmose would still be useless against TrapDoors though, since they need only two actions to kill Cecil, whereas osmosing them to 0 MP would take...well, more time than that.

You can skip that dungeon, though. wink.gif Wether that'd be considered cheating or acceptable is up to the player though. Otherwise you have to be able to deal 5k damage in about two turns, which is no cakewalk...

I'm pretty sure you could use certain equipment to get effects like in FF1. There may be something usable somewhere in there...

I had to power-level to outdamage Cagnazzo when I tried a Cecil SCC. I don't think I really ran into many Zeus's Rages at that point (but I may not just remember).

I think I was doing great until Dr. Lugae. If I was fast enough, I could calculate how much HP the Doctor and the Lugaborg had so that I was spared the worst of Self-Destruct, but his second form with the dumb laser attack was what made me lose stamina.

Regardless of whether or not you'd consider that cheating, you couldn't do it in a SCC, since you would be using Rydia to get the crystal to skip the Sealed Cave.

The only way is having Tellah and Porom(Or palom...which one's the black?) use Thundera and Thundaga timely to avoid him from using Tsunami and then attack him with looots of attacks, remembering to make Palom use Curaga on the party every turn.

Have you bothered to read what the thread was about? Even without knowing what an SCC is, you should've been able to figure out those characters weren't usable based on what others have posted...

Ugh, that's the boss I'm stuck with in the same challange. Sleep is also your deathbed if it hits.

For you Dragon King, I agree with Zeromus X. Leveling up alot is the only way to go. also you could try an item that Hastes.

My first problem fight was the Baron Guards (Stupid Mini... dry.gif )

Stick yourself in the front row for the Back Attack and toss potions at him and yourself, Recalling that he's undead. Or is that what you've been doing?

Leveling more is somewhat pointless sense the next fight going to revert you to level 1.
