Grats on a great site that has proven it's staying power over the years, Josh. You don't need to be told this, but you should be very proud of CoN.

I had the link to the "test" a few weeks ago, so I'm not as surprised as most of the members just realizing that here.

Don't brag, you only got it because I screwed up. tongue.gif

Yeeep, me too smile.gif.

Congratulations to everyone and everything having to do with CoN. I'm not gonna list all of it because damn, that'd take a while.

I only started being active around here a bit over a year ago, but I've already settled my place in CoNchat (whether they like it or not) and made quite a few friends here. I'm sure this is my most-visited-on-a-daily-basis-website.

And now, my obligatory thanks to Climhazzard, without whom nothing (at all) would be possible. Many thanks, Mr. Clim.

Happy Birthday, CoN! (I really had no idea this site had been around for so long...)

The new layout is awesome, too. thumbup.gif

FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver.

Wow, congrats CoN, and happy b-day.

I honestly never thought 17 years ago, when I was picking my 4 man party with my cousin and a few friends that I'd be able to chat with so many people who share this one amazing interest. Thanks for that.

Damn you, new rankings! I will never reach 10,000 posts. The suspense is killing me... biggrin.gif

Happy birthday, CoN. Proud to say I've been with you for about 8 of those 10 years. Even though I only lurk most of the time, I'm constantly amazed at how this site thrives. I wish you all continued success working on the site, and you know I'll always be around from time to time to contribute what I can. Oh, and the new layout is quite nice!

Nice work then, CoN team; I was instantly appreciative of this site's FFT
coverage and insightful community. The longetivity and depth of character
in CoN attendees is no doubt a reflection of the commitment and intrigue
of its administrators.

God... ten years? I can't even believe that.

Makes me feel old to have known most of you staffers for that amount of time or near that amount of time.

But hell yeah, go us. Let's make it twenty, we can celebrate that by launching our Final Fantasy XXXIV-5 coverage section! =P

I've been here for a much shorter duration than most of the other staff here (the sidebar might suggest four years, but really it's been more like two and a half), but it doesn't take much time to realize that this is a very special place. I'm really glad that I decided to invest time here, as it gave me a venue to discuss the hobby that I love as well as made me part of an incredible community with so many amazing people in it. Thank you, CoN, and God bless the internet.

Edit
And for the record, ZH's new avatar kicks the collective ass of all the rest; he just hasn't been around to flaunt it recently. My golden toads come in second.

I blame the decimal number system for this big decade-length-of-time-based celebration.

Also, I agree that the Lunar Dragon looks the coolest. But I just love the whole FF4-themed staff avatar series.

But nevertheless, woot for CoN's 10th birthday! May CoN be around for many years to come!

Edit
I just changed my skin from Digi to Persona (New). Interesting. I kinda liked Terra up top, and a forum tree display rather than a linear display of the thread location, but oh well, I'll be trying it out for a while.

Also, I dunno when it happened, but it seems that someone took my (and a bunch of other people's) suggestion that there should be a big link to the CoN main site up top.

It's there.
It says "Caves of Narshe" and is right next to the logo.

Your baby has come a long way Josh. Look at all the loving members you've gained. Just remind them, if they ever leave you'll gut them. That'll keep things nice and friendly for the next ten years.

I love CoN all my friends on the internet came from it, thank you for sharing your ten year baby with us.

Belated congratulations to everyone at CON! happy.gif

Wish i had came upon this site earlier. It's definitely without a doubt the best site for information related to FF7 and the other classic Final Fantasy games as well.

And i'm definitely appreciative of all the hard work that everyone at CON has put in to keep the site ship shape (try saying that)

Happy 10th b-day, CoN!

I've been around for about 9 months and I make sure to come here at least once a week (usually, it's every day). Never have I found such an addicting forum! Every forum has it's jerk that makes you wish you had never joined, but this one doesn't have one. It's refreshing.

Well, I've had my daily dose of CoN today so I should be at least semi-sane until tomorrow. CoN had better be around for another 10 years or I'll have to check into rehab.

Edit
About the improved forum skins, R51, thanks for doing it and keeping it a secret from me. It's kinda funny; I asked about it, you said it takes time, then it happens.

I know I'm way late on chiming in on this, but I'd still like to say a bit.

I've been here for almost 4½ years. I'm not one of the newer people, but I'm also not quite one of the older guys, I guess. I've seen and used all aspects of CoN available to me. I've talked with nearly everyone. I've been nearly all of those examples of members you listed in your original post. I've randomly been pleasant and a giant pain in the neck to most everyone, and received the same. My visitation frequency has been all over the place. I still keep coming back.
When I got my first computer of my very own, my internet usage was way up there. It was around this time when I first came to CoN. I was at every forum and website that was even halfway worth visiting. My net usage eventually tapered off, and the nature of the forum left me just feeling tired. I was just sick of it all. Going to those places was so draining, mentally and emotionally. I was tired of the style of interaction and the whole internet "community" altogether. One by one, I stopped going to internet forums and message boards.
But, I am still here. And I plan to stay here.
You have created a wonderful thing here, R51. I keep coming back. There are times when I barely come or when I'm absent for a long time, but it's never out of dissatisfaction for what's here. When other internet gathering places piss me off (at best), I still come back here and still love it here.
I've mentioned before that I'm done with video games. I've decided not to bother keeping up anymore and just settle for what I have. There's a few more games I have my eye on for consoles I already have, but when my machines die, that'll be it for me. Yet, here I am at a web site devoted to video games. And I plan on staying here when they do die, discussing and rediscovering those old games I love.
I truly appreciate this place. I can't really say that it's had a significant impact on my life, but it has been a significant part of it. I've always wanted this place to be good and do well. There's no other web site that has ever generated that kind of concern from me. I've even helped a bit. In the most minor and unnoteworthy ways, I've actually reached out to CoN to provide the limited amount of assistance that's within my abilities. I shop at AmaCoN. That's huge for someone like me who has an aversion to internet shopping. Whenever there's something I need to get that I can get from Amazon, I go there to help out CoN. A place that could do that must be wonderful.

So to CoN, its creator, and all the staffers that have helped him carry it this far - Happy tenth.

Slightly late, but I'm finally settled in my new apartment and have stable Internet access. I've been at CoN for nearly four years, and it's been the most memorable and entertaining message board I've ever posted on, thanks mostly to the fantastic staff. Chat is a blast, too, although I don't frequent as often as I should! Here's to another ten years -- ten more years of contests that can help me pay my way through college!

By the way, the new logo and the new artwork on the forums is f***ing awesome.
