To get in touch with a CoN Guild member, message Javex, Hanyou or Rydia while you're online, as usually, one of us are online. We'll meet you where ever you are and invite you to the guild.

Saving works only in that you talk to a Kafra agent who will save your respawn position so that when you warp back to a town after being killed, it's always that same spot. Otherwise, in terms of levels, progress and items, the game naturally saves itself.

I'm online at the moment, so feel free to contact me (Javex).

Phoenix, I have a question about this game. You said in your first post "it's free", and yes I haven't paid anything. The reason i'm posting is because of this: Is there only a free-trial fee, or is it actually free? This info below was taken from roempire.com:

Quote
You now have your own RO account. smile.gif. Every account is automaticly given ~70 hours free usage, which expires after 15 days. At the end of the 15 days, the account will be locked (NOT deleted. Accounts are NEVER deleted), and you'll need to pay to unlock the account (see below).

Account Usage
Now that you have your account, I'm sure you'd like to play RO. For the first fifteen days, you have a free trail period, in which you can go and play straight away, but once this is over, you will need to pay for your account (~$13USD a month). To do this, go to the Main Site, and log in on the left hand side, with your username and password.
Once logged in, click on the **PAYMENT** link. You can now choose a payment method.
Select the amount of time you want to pay for, and click continue. Just follow the forms that they tell you till fill out, and your done. smile.gif.

Does this mean after 70 hours of gameplay, we can't play anymore? Can someone clarify this, making it true or false? Many thanks in advance.

ok i am really slow at this... i dont know how to contact someone.

That's simple, you see the chatbox at the bottom of the screen? See how it has a smaller box on it's far left? In that box, you type in the name of the person you want to whisper (private message) to, then in the following, longer box you type out your message. If the person is online, the message will go through.

So, in the case of contacting me, you'd type Javex in the smaller box and then your message in the larger one. Be sure to read the first two posts in this thread, as it explains a lot of the game's controls and how things work. Also make sure to do the novice training grounds, as it does the same.

Also, FF_Master, the RO-Empire forums refer to the actual main server of the game, which none of us are playing on. As we're playing on a private server, seperate from the main game itself, we don't have to pay and have unlimited play time, so long as the server stays up and running. Don't worry about having to pay, we promise it's entirely, completely and indefinitely free on the server we're playing on.

Thank you Dragon_Fire for clearing that up, I feel releaved now. happy.gif I was like, we have to pay? They said it was free, now I feel stupid. Anyway, yeah the game is great and i'm glad to get to play with all of ya'll. Just for interest, is anyone on right now? Name's Torlis if you don't feel like lookin' on the front page.

There are two different types of levels: job level and base level. Base level is talking about your level overall, sort of like a Final Fantasy character's level when you go into the menu. Your job level is your level in your class, so say your lv. 1 in your class your new in the job. If your higher, your a bit upclassed from a beginner. Also, Base level deals with your stats (STR, DEX, AGI, ect.), while your job level deals with your techniques and moves how good they are or if you know them or not yet. That's about it, if you still don't understand, maybe Phoenix or someone else can better.

Yo everybody, I just got a new compy (laptop!) that can handle games, and my first act (aside from hooking up internet and downloading some essential programs) was to download this and Diablo II. Sadly, I have only played this game with my friend, who happened to be a GM on one of the most watered-down servers ever. I had max level characters in like 10-15 minutes and couldn't click fast enough to allocate points. It was lame. He made the game really unfun.

However, playing through legitimately should be great, especially with people I know. Since I was so spoiled, though, I have no clue what the correct sequence of events is in this game, so I apologize in advance for sucking.

Once I get my router all hooked up I get started. I have internet access now, but I want to get this taken care of first. Who knows how long it'll take. I will likely be an Archer/Ranger, and have no name picked out yet. happy.gif

Ah, yes, to high of rates = not fun.

Though, if you have a big exp table, that goes to level 1000, then you should be fine on high rates.

This is a great explanation of the job/base level system, FF Master, thank you. smile.gif Death, if that doesn't cover all your questions, a more detailed description of job vs. base levels is included in the second post of this thread.

So I've run into a rather nasty problem. At some point, the game just froze on me and I was forced to just close it all up. When I tried to get back on, all I end up getting is an error message: "Cannot init d3d OR grf file has problem." Dunno if I can just uninstall and reinstall to fix, but I don't have time for that now, so I figure I just bring this up regardless.

**Sigh**

King Eddy's here, being a nuisance again. I've found a download accelerator that downloads 400% faster and resumes broken downloads. I'm hoping that this will help, and if it does, I may finally be able to get this done. I may be able to join tomorrow if it goes fast enough! Need any girls in the guild?

Download accelerators only usually accelerate anything if the bottleneck is on the other side, rather than because of your own connection. You can still only fit the same amount of bytes down the wire at a time! The resumable feature should help you do it in chunks though if you need to.

Shin, that doesn't really add anything to the topic, though I'm guessing it's funny if you're an RO player. I don't know. But if you're going to add posts to the topic, please make them relevant somehow to being a part of the CoN guild, because I'm sure the other guild members won't appreciate it if the topic gets locked for spam.

Edit
Sorry, I was overly harsh here, but I think it is more helpful to the building of the guild and the community around it if the focus is more on getting connected to play instead of general RO chat. OP can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif

I've never encountered the shadow sprite error myself, so I don't have any specific steps to give you here. However, by simply googling "ragnarok shadow sprite error," I came up with several results that could help you resolve this problem, including:

If that link doesn't help your case, try some additional google searches. smile.gif

I told him to go for 2 M. Though that ice katar is rare. cause the only thing that drops it decent is a MVP and that's hard to beat, also, it only spawns after a long time. Garm has a 15% drop, and there is a normal enemy that drops it for .09% XD

Erm, am I the only one who can't connect anymore?

I walked into this portal outside of Rachel, and it said an error occured, and that RO would be shut down.

Then, I tried logging on again, and it worked, but just as soon as I selected Seine, I got the same message.

Does this have something to do with the portal I walked into?

Edit
Still isn't working, but apparently the 215 people on the server have no problem getting on. sad.gif

Edit
Bah, this really sucks. I'm pretty sure the portal is the cause of the constant crashing. sad.gif

If you log on to the Rebirth RO website, you can access your account info, which will give level and exp info about your characters.

On this screen is a set of links next to each of your characters' names. The links read "US" and "RL." If you click the "US" link for Seine, it should send your character--totally intact--back to Prontera, where you can resume playing as usual.

The part of Rachel you visited may not be completely implemented into Ragnarok yet, causing a bug for that particular portal.

Whew, thanks Pheonix! I'd really convinced myself I wouldn't be able to play as Seine anymore.

Well, it works now, much better. happy.gif Say, maybe you could put this info in the first post.

FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver.

As some of you may have noticed (or not biggrin.gif), I haven't been on much lately. That's because I'm in the middle of a move and I'm not sure when my new internet will be set up. Right now I'm on a laptop at a coffee shop, but this thing couldn't handle... anything. Even if RO isn't a graphically intense game. tongue.gif

So, I'll be back. By the 10th for sure.
