Precursor to FF6. Should blizzard make game?

My friend recently emailed a fan story he did. He made it around the love between a female human and an esper that gave birth to the child Tina. Funny his story actually has Kefka as Tina's uncle.
Would you all think it would be too cheesey to make a game based on the precursor of FF6 with vector conquering the southern continent and the characters around Tina's parents? |

Blizzard? Why would Blizzard make a prequel to FF VI as opposed to, say, Square-Enix?
The story you outlined sounds vaguely similar to the project from these fellas, but it's been pretty slow in coming, if it's still being worked on. -------------------- |

I'm totally down for some World of FinalFantasyCraft.

I don't ever want Square making sequels, prequels, or, uh... equals... to FF6. While I'm never opposed to fanfiction, this could never pass for something cannon. It's just too... cheesy, as others have put it.
Why force character relationships on the existing cast? Stuff like that gives rise to ridiculous arguments like Gogo's identity (zomg is it Daryll? Ghestal? Maybe Leo?  ) It's unecessary and loses some realism - the world isn't so small that everyone has to be related. They do good work but the closest thing to this they've done is WoW and that's a MMORPG as opposed to a console RPG (I refuse to acknowledge the existence of FFO and FFXI) I wouldn't be opposed to a prequel.
