why did they put Cyan's books in the game

They put a blue sparkle on the cliff in Mt.Zozo so you can open the chest for 2 books. It looked like a power tab in Chronotrigger. It has no meaning. what a waste. and General Leo, that sucks you cant get him. What were the original purposes of these items.anyone know.

it just improves the back story of characters and makes them more relatable and believable. it wouldnt make sense if Cyan just sat there and did nothing to cope with his fear, so he read about machines in order to better understand them so he wouldnt be as afraid

And as far as i remember, he was actually living in that cave... So did you really want the cave to be all-empty? i think that would be very sad.
General Leo dies... he-is-dead, meaning you can't control him as a character. His death was one of the things that made the game what it is. i think they just didnt add a little subquest cause they wanted to release the game OR you originally could learn a new Sword Tech/Bushido and possibly get a new weapon through another journey like giving it to a sentry of Doma Castle.I like the blue sparkly thing cause it reminds me of Chronotrigger*******
