Short for paper craft. Anyone ever played around with making pepakura models? Its similar to origami except the result is generally a little cooler looking.
I've been wanting to show some of my models off and I got a hold of someone's camera so here ya go. I'm sure you'll recognize this guy. I screwed up on his head a bit so its a little smashy but that's okay. Blue Blur Blue Blur 2 Bonus points if you can tell what he is standing on. Its pretty easy and you probably won't have a very hard time finding something you'd like to make if anyone is interested. Just do a search on paper craft and maybe include the name of something you'd like to make. Like a Mario or Zelda model perhaps. I think its pretty neat to have a couple little models like that sitting around your room. Plus you're a little proud that you put it together. I don't have the few other models I made but I'll get around to posting them in a few days. Feel free to show any pepakura models you've made. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

This is really cool and really different from what I seen. But I have a question, how long did it take for you to make this?
Oh, and I think hes standing on a Laptop, or a DVD Player.... -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. Reminds me of you, death knight. Arthas:Shut up you damned ghost. -Warcraft III Kel'thuzad comparing Arthas and Sylvanas Windrunner. |

Quote (Death Penalty @ 19th July 2007 21:45) ooh! its a nintendo wii game case right? am i right? Very good. Now which game is it? I made Sonic over a couple days on the weekend. Its pretty easy, though I didn't immediately understand how to fold the quills on his head properly. Hence the smashy head. If you wanna give it a try I'd recommend something nice and simple as a starter. Such as a box cat. You could probably do that with just some scissors, glue, and regular paper. For other models I would recommend card stock and a razor knife. The thicker card stock paper keeps the paper from drooping from the weight. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

I really like it, and I use to do origami a bit, but never heard of this. This is quite interesting, and turned out nice.
Quote Rujuken Posted on 19th July 2007 23:13 Now which game is it? I'm not good with knowing what Wii games are, since I don't have one and don't know the games, but I think it has something to do with either Metroid or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I think it's Metroid more because I know there's a Metroid game for Wii, but that's all I know. -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

Twilight Princess is the right answer. You get a cookie.
Here are the other papercraft I did before doing the Sonic one. I've been working on a harder one. Its one of the Cerberus guns from the game Gungrave. I hope to have some pictures of that posted within a week or so. The turtles are Koopas. Kuribo is the Japanese name (I believe). They're really cool. I want to make one but I don't know who/what to do. |

R.I.P. poor Kuribo(Goomba). *sob*
I hope you give the little mutt that chewed you up indigestion. I finished putting my cerberus gun together. It was pretty difficult. There were 15 pages of parts and no directions. I screwed plenty of parts up and it has its share of bumps and bruises, but I think its pretty boss. Cerberus 1 As you can tell from comparing my hand to the gun in pic 2, its pretty big. Though my hands are rather small and girlish... Cerberus 2 Cerberus 3 Cerberus 4 Overall, awesome. My only regret is that I couldn't get the internal mechanism that allows you to cock the barrel by pulling the trigger to work. though that's not actually correct. I got it to work, I just couldn't build it strong enough to overcome the friction created from the different parts. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Now that last one's pretty cool.
So is it supposed to have moving parts or do you just mean you somehow screwed up putting that particular part together? And what's keeping it all together, btw? At any rate, it seems you got yourself a neat new hobby there -------------------- |

Quote (Galsic @ 29th July 2007 01:33) And what's keeping it all together, btw? Glue would be holding it together. It is pretty much just a model made out of paper after all. I've seen plenty of gundam and other robot models that can be made out of paper as well. Less exspensive than buying a model kit. Yes, it is supposed to have moving parts. There is an internal mechanism set up so that when you pull the trigger the top part of the gun is pulled back revealing the inside barrel at the front. Then when you let go it goes back. But I had to make the mechanism out of paper and the rubber band I was using wasn't strong enough, so I could get the barrel to pull back but the rubber band would not pull the barrel back into place. Also I built the mechanism last and as I discovered through trial and error it should be one of the first things you start to build.
