There was a game I loved playing back when I was a kid, but I can't recall it's name, so I thought maybe you guys will know it. It's a logic game, you control a hand, a disney-like hand that looks basically like a white glove, and you go through all the levels pushing different chess figures (and if I remember correctly not only chess figures), so that they would destroy the obstacles etc. You could get killed if a moved figure hit you and if that happened, the hand would jump and then fall and the whole screen would turn red. That's what I remember. I hope any of you could help, I really want to play the game again.

I don't have any ideas off the top of my head, but the following may help anyone who sees this thread:
1. Did the game have text in any specific language? 2. What kind of graphics did it have--pre-8-bit/8-bit, 16-bit, or newfangled/32-bit/64-bit? 3. Where did you encounter this game--home, game store, friend, school, etc.? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Was it something Mario, maybe? Most of the Mario games have white gloves as cursors. Was it for the SNES?

It was for the PC and the hand wasn't a cursor, but a protagonist. I don't remember where I found the game, I think it was added to some computer games' magazine. The menu was in English and there was no in-game text, just puzzles. I don't really know much about graphics, so I really can't answer your second question, GMH. I remember it had an izometric view (if that's how it's called) and the whole game was kinda murky.

Was it like any of the Myst games? My dad and I used to play through alot of those games for the PC. Try searching for "Karma" or "The 7th Guest". Both of those were entirely puzzle-based and resulted in your death if you mess-up.

Silver_Zombie: By the graphics question, I mean, did it look like some old system--like NES-ish, or did it look really fancy like it used smooth 3D graphics, or something in between?
The idea of this question was to give an idea of what system it might be for and what era it might be from. Although you've already answered that it was a PC thing, and I'm not as familiar with graphics eras for PC games... -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Sounds like Black and White, but it could be a Myst game.

It's not Myst nor any of the games you mentioned. It wasn't emulated. There was no real story, you just had go through different levels of a castle of some sort and on each level the puzzles were more and more complicated, but still consisted of pushing chess figures so that they would move to proper places and make a way for you (mostly by destroying ice or glass blocks blocking the way). The hand was about the size of the figures. The corridors were divided into quadrants, so by pushing an arrow an your keyboard you'd move to another quadrant, just like in old games. It was all in isometric view and there were no 3D-graphics... I don't know what else can I say...
