I was looking at a list of upcoming games for DS and Wii coming out this new year an a few caught my eyes:
Suikoden: Tierkreis I've played a little of I and Tactics and beat II which 'awesome' can't explain what I though of the story. I'm expecting this will be an excelent addition to my DS RPG collection along with FFTA and Disgaea. Mad World This looks to be this years No More Heroes for the Wii. Oh yes. TMNT All I have to say from the screenshots is WOW! This one has my eye on it. My World, My Way While it's not too high on the list, it has an interesting ability and sense of humor that I want to check it out later. KOF XII They're redrawing everything!? Woo for 2-D Fighters! So yes, anything else you're keeping your eyes on for 09? -------------------- Blah Blah Blah Tidal Wave Spam! |

Pokemon Platinum. Tentative March 22nd, IIRC, which is really exciting. I cannot wait to use that Ice Punch move tutor.

Dragon Quest V DS, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Starcraft II. That's about all.
EDIT: Well, Diablo III as well, of course, but that's probably not coming until 2010 while the others are all in less than six months. This post has been edited by laszlow on 8th January 2009 23:36 -------------------- |

Diablo III, Starcraft II, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2.
Potentially Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but that is still hit or miss. I'm looking forward to additional content for Left 4 Dead and, as always, new dlc for Rock Band. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

With no release date announced for even our Japanese counterparts, it doesn't look like the game will be out any time in the near future. Besides, look at how long it took for them to crank out XII. I wouldn't hold my breath for this game. Then again, I'm waiting on Blizzard, who are just as bad. Ah well! -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

First and foremost is Resident Evil 5 which is going to be awesome, and is really the only big blockbuster title that I'm super excited for in the coming year. Here are some others that I am excited for just less so:
Borderlands Starcraft 2 MAG Uncharted 2 Half Life 2 Episode 3 Deus Ex 3 And here's a few that will probably get delayed past 2009 but if they are released this year I am excited for them: God of War III Final Fantasy XIII And even though I probably won't buy it I'm REALLY interested to see how the Dragonball MMO turns out -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Not too excited for many games... I guess just FFXIII and Versus. Also, I'm waiting for last remnant to come out on PS3.

Quote (Death Penalty @ 8th January 2009 17:53) Not too excited for many games I have to say, I don't think there are that many games coming out that interest me these days. Really, I'm just waiting on FFXIII Versus. I'd be interested to see FFVI on the DS too, but I know as of yet there is no announcement of this. Other than that, I can't really think of anything I'm waiting on. It just feels like there has been a lack of good games lately... -------------------- Climhazzard is the timeless evil robot who runs some of the cool stuff at CoN (mostly logging chat, since there are no quizzes at the moment), all the while watching and waiting for his moment to take over the world. -Tiddles |

Right now, I'm hoping the new DLC for Left 4 Dead comes soon. Other than that, I can't say I'm looking forward to too much; I mean, there are several games that have recently come out or are coming soon that I'd LIKE to play, but I know that I just don't spend money on games very often, so I'm not aching for them.

The aforementioned Diablo III is a highly-anticipated game for me and Dissidia seems like a game I might be interested in as well. From some information and screenshots, I think FFXIII, or a game within that mini-compilation, seems pretty interesting.

Resident Evil 5 - As long as it's similar enough to Res 4. If it has Mercenaries mode and Krauser then I'm all for it.
Deus Ex 3 - The original is still my favorite game of all time. The new augments sound alright, but hopefully it will still be more strategy than FPS. The graphics look a little like TimeSplitters 2. No problems there. Heavy Rain - I watched a gameplay video in French on Gametrailers. If it's Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) without the supernatural cringe then this could be a winner. Half-Life Episode 3 - Huge fan of the series. Can't wait to see what they introduce into the game and how the story finishes... or if it finishes. Starcraft II - Really looking forward to seeing where the story goes. "I'll get 'ya darlin'." Warcraft III turned out so brilliantly that I have a lot of faith in Blizzard. Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena - At first it was going to be a remake of the original game for next-gen consoles. Now it's all that plus an entire now story and multiplayer. That has me sold. I still think the original is one of the best Xbox games, and maybe this will be one of the best on the 360. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. I thought I'd pull this up again now that some of the games we've been waiting for have arrived. For me, Resident Evil 5 and Riddick are fine. They are pretty much exactly what I thought they would be.
Still interested in DX3, SC2 and HL:E3, although DX3 is shaping up to be much more action-orientated than its predecessors. I've always had a liking for the Max Payne games and, honestly, I liked the film too. They were a top laugh from start to finish and knew exactly what they had to be. I would've been interested in a third one, but now it's set in sunny Brazil and he's shaved his head and done away with the leather coat. That's a really poor start. I've always enjoyed battle.net games, especially WarCraft III, but sometimes the players can be too serious. None more so than most players of one particular mod, Defence of the Ancients, which has dominated WarCraft III multiplayer practically since it first came out. Anyway, League of Legends is an online game based upon DotA with the mod's original creator and some people from Blizzard on board as well. It's free to download and play but some additional content will cost. The problem with DotA, for me, is some of the more serious players which make it much less enjoyable. Supposing you score a really unexpected kill, instead of a smile or a laugh from your opponent, expect profanity and death threats. I really hope that LoL (League of Laughter/Lots of Legends) can bring in some less hardcore players so I can enjoy what is truly a brilliant game. LoL is definitely what I'm looking forward to the most. I'll be sure to get a thread posted here so we can all play some games once it's out. It's free so we should get quite a good number. parasite eve 3 for psp
I loved 1 and 2 was very diferent and was more like a resident evil series(excellent game) HMM other than that i cannot think of any other games right now maybe: Resident evil 6? 5 was not bad,it was waay to long and many scenes were repetitive and ontop of that, the phrasing of wekser really annoyed me. I am kinda curious about some of those selections people, In tekken 6 i hope they bring heihachi mishima back,i liked his fists and make him even better. i always was kinda annoyed also by jen kazama, she had some ok moves but not impressive, they need to buf her up and improve her a little more i think. I'l have to look up deus ex,i've heard of it but never played it before, any good? what kind of platform is it? rpg? action? -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Well, I played the **** out of DQ V when it came out and loved it, and MHFU just came out a few weeks ago but I haven't bought it yet - I still haven't finished everything I want to do in MHF2. Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are probably not coming until 2010. The beta hasn't started for Starcraft 2, and I'm pretty sure that D3 isn't coming out until 6-12 months have followed the release of Starcraft 2. We'd be lucky if we get Diablo 3 in 2010 at all. But to add to that Blizzard duo, I'm definitely looking forward to the English releases of Dragon Quest IX, the PSP re-release of Disgaea 2, and trudging through my enormous PS1/PS2/PSP backlog. -------------------- |

DX is probably best on PC, but you can buy it for PS2 as well with some changes that dumb it down a little but not too much. You're best off just playing the demo or something rather than letting me go into it too much. Once I'm started it'll take a while to stop. It's basically an RPG FPS stealth cyberpunk game with a brilliant set of characters. Anyway, as much as I like the idea of a DX3 I know that it'll never be as good, or even nearly as good, as the original. I'm still looking forward to it anyway. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Happens alot. it happened to a game called suikoden 4. suikoden 2 came out and it was the best of its series to me. suikoden 3 had good and bad reviews, alot of people put it down and then suikoden 4 came out and people really put it down,my biggest complaint is that its very linear and the recruiting is too easy. Suikoden 5 is not bad but not as good as suikoden 2 for me. As long as its enjoyeable as it is a game and that is the most important thing, gameplay and story of course and characters. If it has terrible story but ok characters and magnificent replayability then it is replayable. And what kind of things do they dumb down on ps2? like the language? violence? personality? graphics? -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Well, it's unfortunate, but Starcraft II isn't going to be out until 2010. I think many of us had already expected this, but it's disappointing anyhow. They're citing difficulties in implementing the new Battle.net 2.0 service as the biggest reason for a delay.
But in happier Blizzard news, their big convention is going down in about two weeks in Anaheim, California. In the wake of this SC II delay it's unlikely that they're giving away Starcraft II beta keys, as many people were hoping, but there are sure to be updated demos present for Starcraft II and Diablo III and at least one big announcement. My hope is that we learn the identity of one of the unrevealed Diablo III classes. -------------------- |

Yaaaaaaaay for reviving old threads!
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver. Dear heavens yes. Silver is my absolute favorite version (I like it over Gold basically because I prefer Lugia to Ho-Oh, and Gold/HG doesn't have Vulpix [Ninetales is my undisputed favorite Pokémon of all time]). Also, Golden Sun DS. -------------------- |
