Ok, I chose to play threw FFIV again, since i've only beaten it once. I get threw everything fine, playing off and on for a good while. Alright, I stated to play today, and I just got inside of the Giant. I go threw it for a while, then I open up a chest with a monster in it, called the Last Arm.
Here's my question, is there anything I can do in this battle? I mean, his only command is search and when he does that he does a command called Magnetic Radiation. Magnetic Radiation causes your characters to stop, period. Alright, he did that to one of my characters, then another, and then in the end all of them have stop on them. He keeps hitting every single one of them one at a time, and always seems to get around to them in time. Is there anything I can do? I don't want to stop and start over from my last save, that was a while back. If I have to, I will, but I really don't want to. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. Edit Also thought I would let you know this has been going on for over 10 minutes at least. im not familiar with this enemy, but do you know it's HP? if its low i suppose you could go crazy on it right away, but im guessing not. this attack, magnetic radiation, does it only make one of your characters stop or does it stop all of them? if you have a mage you could try to haste a character once they are hit, but once that mage gets hit you'd be done... can you stop/slow it?
i guess it depends on the monster's other stats. i dont remember ever facing one like that, though i have seen some with a similar tactic. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Magnetic Radiation puts stop on 1 character. Eventually, they are all stopped, like I said before. He keeps using it, no other commands, and hits me before I can do anything. He's not hitting me, and i'm not hitting him, he's just keeps stopping everyone of my characters while I just sit there. I can't do anything, if I go back to my last save, it's too far back. It has like 9500 HP I believe, but that doesn't matter if I can't even attack it once, does it? I'm just having a hard time, is there anything I can do?

I believe you can steal a Siren // Alarm from him, I know I stole like 3 for each of my characters off guys that look like him.
Usually when he's attacked he calls a robot and will do so over and over again until the eye thing dies. Your situation never happened to me though, now that I think about it... in all of my playthrough's the eye enemies barely used that magnet spell. Hey all, I thought I would tell ya'll I just beat it, and it was nothing but pure luck. If you want to here the story, maybe be boring, but here it is...
Alright, as you already know, all my characters were stopped and there was nothing I could do. The Last Arm just kept hitting me with Magnetic Radiation, which is really weird because never heard of an enemy with like 4 different attacks using the same one like 100 times in a row. You know that the stop thing after a while will go away, but he kept hitting them all before I even had a chance. Here is what my levels were: Edge: lv. 28 Rosa: lv. 34 Cecil: lv. 33 Rydia: lv. 34 FuSoYa: lv. 50 There was nothing I could do, and I kept thinking I would have to start over. Alright, thankfully he used Magnetic Radiation in this order: Cecil, Rydia, Edge, Edge, Cecil, Rosa, ect., something like that. He didn't manage to hit FuSoYa for a while, and he got out of the stop stage. He doesn't have much health, and I use Fira, hoping to finish him off. I hit him, and it doesn't hill him, but he uses Fission on me. He almost killed FuSoYa, but he had some HP left, but after he used Fission he died! I'm like "Oh yeah!" and feel relieved. Has anything like this happened to ya'll before in Final Fantasy IV? I don't remember having that happen from that enemy ever, not the last time I played it that is. Thanks for hearing my story, and tell me what you thought. -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

I think Fission might be a desperation move. That sure was lucky though. xD Aren't things like that awesome?
Alot of people have said that using Reflect can really cripple this guy, but I've never tried it. I usually ignore his treasure chest since he's the only 'Alert' type enemy that really bothers me. -------------------- |

Yeah they are, just wish the ending would happen like that more often on other parts of the game. Quote Death Penalty Posted on 20th July 2007 09:26 im about to quit but then...there is usually a break. Yeah, I thought I would never get out of it, and really didn't want to start over at all. I was overwhelmed with joy, and almost screamed out loud! But really, has anyone ever experienced this almost exact problem before, didn't remember it happening my last playthrough? -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

If you're not very keen on such battles,I'll tell you how to defeat Plague on the Moon.
The only moves he knows are Slow Death and Haste. It'll strike your whole party and you'll lose automatically in 10 seconds. Since it's almost impossible to defeat it within that time, all you have to do is to cast Reflect on any of your members.Death will affect him too and to avoid losing (or affect the reflecting member as well?) he'll keep on casting Slow Death resetting everyone's time left.In the while Edge can easily kill him with 3 or 4 shuriken and such things. |

...Almost impossible? C'mon, that boss isn't THAT hard.
You just have to pile on the damage and not worry too much about healing - even with 1 hp, a character can do as much harm as a fully-loaded one. Just ignore the timer and use your best attacks. It's right next to a save point, so MP consumption shouldn't be something to worry about. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I'm usually around level 45 by the end-game, seeing as I try to get the ultimate weapons right off the bat to make getting the other stuff easier (I usually take a side-trip to Bahamut's cave halfway through to make things easier though
Seriously, it's not all that hard if you don't waste your turns. I had a harder time fighting the wall in the sealed cave (that boss used to haunt me when I was a kid - I dreaded fighting that thing. For some reason I can kill it no problem nowadays though. I probably just wasn't as familiar with the game back then as I am now, 10-some years later. Back on topic though, I remember that enemy. I had some characters stopped by it too - it's a tough fight if you're underlevelled and unlucky enough to get stopped. As soon as you attack it, IIRC, it summons an enemy and stops using that attack that stops you (at least I think so.) Now's your chance to nuke (figuratively speaking) it! Sorry, but I'm with RL here. Plague is not impossible. Not is he very hard. Evil Wall or Devil Gate or Ness' Nightmare or whatever you want to call it in the Sealed Cave was infinitely harder. I, too, used to have nightmares about him and refused to even play the game a few times for fear of fighting him. That entire cave itself was a beast because of those doors, but the wall was always tough for me. Up until recently I was never able to beat him until Rydia learned Virus. I'm too lazy to look up what level that is, but that's when I fought him.
And also, I'm pretty sure Plague opened the battle with that condemnation. I'm quite sure there is not enough time to get a Wall off, and even if there was, I'm pretty sure that spell would be non-reflectable. I have to call hoax on your strategy. There is no problem with just attacking Cecil, Kain, and Edge and using spells with the other two. If Rosa doesn't have White, just have her defend or something. Idk. If selecting spells is too time-consuming, rearrange the order of them beforehand. And making Kain jump might do more damage. Or berserking Cecil. Meh. Whatever. -------------------- Is PJ |

Well...actually I found quite easy the Demon Wall,as all I had to do was downing him with attacks and spells and have Rosa heal the party continuosly.
Though I must admit that after trying GBA I played it in the emulator and seeing that...thing coming closer to my party wwas just frightening! |
