Wouldn't all battles just end up being won by the person who could cast Ultima first with Gembox equipped or some other cheap tactic like that?

agreed. there would need to be no limit to statistics, and spell/attack powers would need to be toned down so that they couldn't wipe a character out with 9999 every time.

Or make enemies stronger to compensate for the higher damage rates later in the game. You think Ultima is cheap, try Anima's Overdrive in FFX...I had it hit for around 90,000! Great for the Monster Arena unlockable beasts.

I'e love to see a 3D FF6, preferably using FFX (Or better, X-2's) battle system. Fighting was fun as heck with X-2's chaos. smile.gif Peerhaps even eliminate random battles and make the enemies visible on the field (a la FFXII or Xenosaga). Make the enviroments as detailed as FFXII's (even if it means zoning...but if they can get the world map to work like Dragon Quest VIII's with more detailed graphics than cel-shading, that'd be even cooler. The PS3 might be able to handle suk a task.

Besides, we need a game to bring back Ultima...it hasn't been used since FFX (And it looked wicked then!) as far as i know (Unless its in XI).

And it could have voice-overs (as good as X's and XII's were, why not?! biggrin.gif ).

Throw in the extras from the GBA version, as well as a few new things...

Could possibly be the definitive release. wink.gif

we were talking about wifi multiplayer fighting in the battle arena instead of just AI enemies, 2Cold Scorpio.

That would be cool, especially if you wanted to extend the ending, which you could do on a console version, but if I had any say, (which I don't, but this is just my opinion), I would try to emphasize magic coming from nature instead of the Three Goddesses. It would be interesting to play without magic for a while, because with the powerful enemies in the game would be very difficult, which is a plus, however, I agree with what karasuman said, they can't change the plot direction of the story. That includes my idea of magic coming from nature instead of the Three Goddesses, but I think that this game is so great that if Square Enix weighs the pros and cons, they would see that the rewards out-weigh the risks, and they could create a new 3D remake of this game that would be a major hit.

I didn't see this post before, and thought I'd comment. This idea is quite feasible; DQ8 did soemthing very similar in that you essentially played the endings yourself (Granted there were no battles, but that can be fixed). Aso, DQ8 has a new temple open up after you beat it, and if you complete that THEN rebeat the final boss, you get the full stroy and get the *real* ending. I liked this, and FF6 could easily incorporate it. We could see what happened to the characters after they left the tower, perhaps see how the world is coming back together. This would allow you to play a little more, give us more story (you know that 40-minute ending isn't enough for us! lol), and make the ending even more fulfilling. Just my thoughts.

Also the ability to do a New Gae Plus where you keep all your equipment from your last cleared file would be cool. smile.gif Just because chopping up leafers with Atma Weapons is fun. thumbup.gif

Point 1: I apoligize; I didn't misunderstood the context of that you said. Still, most later-game enemies would benefit from a HP boost... smile.gif

Point 2: Indeed. And on a similar point, we could have actual orchastrated versions of the original music. That alone would sell me on another remake.

Point 3: I liked how summons looked in FFXII. Do either that (Or X's; both were swesome), make them even grander-looking so that you atually WANT to summon them, just like Bahamut and Anima in FFX, or the reaper-looking summon in FFXII (yeah, yeah, summons were unneded for the most part in XII...but some of them are still fun to play around with).

Square oughta listen to us about this...a 3D FF6 remake could outsell the original if done right. thumbup.gif

I agree with Blitz Sage, this adventure is worthy of a PS3 remake. In my opinion the story rivals that of FF7 although there are still a few cloudy plot lines with in the game(like Ziegfried).Yes a new game plus would be cool although that has not existed in the FF series that i know of. How about 4 new character slots, better looking near death attacks, changing Ultros in to a more intimidating monster or replacing him with Chupon, adding a few more relics for Umaro, adding an item for Gau so he can be controllable to an extent(optional), upping the difficulty a lot, and yes a very hard-fought subquest with random tangibles (like optionally saving Shadow) for the revival of General Leo or somehow using his spirit to aquire a new item or attack for Terra. Well thats a start mad.gif :yes:Oh yeah and some new hair style for particular characters(it seems everyone has a pony tail or a rats tail in this game)

Well even if they do make a FFVI 3D remake, i hope they still keep the Doom/Vanish Thing.

They already fixed it for the GBA version, so I doubt they'd leave it unfixed for another remake.

Aeris died in FFVII, i don't know could have been happy about it, even if you never used her in battle. but, it gave you an extra reason to fight on, and it was (unless you already knew what would happen) unexpected

general leo dying is just one more thing the characters have to be upset about. he wasn't really a bad guy, but he got on kefka's bad side. these moments are good for a game, and i wouldn't want them taken out.

I like what someone else once said here (I can't remember who). I'd be neat to control Leo in another segment or two like you do against Kefka (and how you control Ramuh in another). It could be a segment to fill in some more backstroy or such. That would please a lot of folks to an extent
