Last Monday, Square-Enix launched an English-language online store full of merchandise dedicated to various games. Most of the merch seems to be figurines, jewelry, and other accessories. This marks the first time that many of these items are available directly to the US market, if at hilariously high prices.

The plush Tonberrys and Cactuars sure are cute! I'd sure love to have the Kefka figurine. If they ever made one with all three tiers below him, that would definitely be a must purchase.

some of the stuff looks nice... but me, being the pathetically cheap person i am, will be unable to make myself spend anything. now, if they had squenix games and guides available for purchase brand new over the site, that would be cool.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think that S-E is intending to keep exclusive content on this store. It's probably less complicated for them to leave the game- and guide-selling to the major online game retailers: amazon, ebgames, the like. You can generally only find this kind of swag on ebay or through an importer. -------------------- |

Ah, but THAT'S the thing though. Why should they worry about wasting time, energy, and funds to rerelease and sell new copies of old games when it's likely that they won't sell well and other retailers already do most of it for them? -------------------- |

You can't just manufacture things like that out of thin air - heck, they probably don't even have all the equipment to press PS1 games any more, let alone SNES/NES carts. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Quote (Death Penalty @ 24th August 2007 12:20) no intention ![]() That's a big misconception. We sell anything Amazon sells, period.
