Which is the better series? I tend to debate with a friend on which is better, FE7 or FFTA, so I decided to ask you guys. I figured it's most fair to also have all the FEs and FFT on this as well. I can't give the best answer, as I've never played FFT, but I do think that FE7 is better than FFTA. I cared more about the characters in FE7, and it was quite a bit more challenging.

I was going to just ask here, but I figure that most people might say FFT, so I'm asking this question here, at FESS (a Fire Emblem forum) and at starmen.net (an Earthbound forum, which should be neutral on the issue.

FFTA / FE8 / FE9 / FE4 / FE7 / FE6 / FFT

FF Tactics is better than any FE game, but I think that every FE game that I've played is better than FF Tactics Advance. It averages out.

Compare the plot and characterization of the story material of the two games.

Now compare the depth and enjoyability of the tactical gameplay and character-building system (if there is one).

I haven't played FE7, but as long as FE7 beats FFTA in the first category (which looks like it does according to what you've said, Barrylocke) and is about comparable in the second, then yes.

I don't know which one FE7 is, but I've played FE: PoR and FE: SS. I also played FFTA. The FE series made me angry because people were always dying on me and I didn't want them to die so I'd have to reset. Of course, after a while I'd just let the person stay dead if I had tried the battle 100 times and I was almost done when they died. At least on FFTA the only place they'd stay dead is in the Jagds and that's only if you don't revive them.

I'd have to say I like FE: SS the best out of the three because I love the story and the characters. You also get to pick whether you want to use Eirika or Ephraim, you get to pick what job they go into, and after the final battle you can go into the Tower of Valni and the Lagdou Ruins and get the dead evil people as well as the dead kings and queens.

I love fire emblem and ff tactics was amazing...FFT Advanced....not so amazing. I would say The fire emblem series just cause there was more of them. However If the Best game is easily The original Tactics for me.
