May you should have tried a bit more patience and taken a bit more time with it? It's likely most players won't put as much effort into getting the Dark Knight that early in the game because it's a lengthy process to go through. Just a thought.

ahh but the to contrary! I have and indeed it is. In regard to power by the end of the game with the right sword you are doing roughly the damage agrias is doing with the holy sword and you have a few other moves in your arsenal that can hit everyone within a radius of you for roughly the same damage. Over all this is the class I wish was in the original. I am not impressed with onion knight at all but dark knight is great. Early on you won't be doing all that much more than your comrades but getting it out of the way is very satisfying. I did it before most of the guides on how to get it were out. Fun class. However my one downside is the look of the generic dark knights. They look kind of ridiculous. Thus i change them to knights or some other sword wielding class.

What are the requirements for dark knight?

Mastered Knight, Mastered Black Mage, level 4 Samurai, level 4 Ninja, level 4 Dragoon, level 4 Geomancer, plus the character must have killed at least 20 enemies (as in reduced them to crystals) over the course of the game.

level 4 Samurai, level 4 Ninja, level 4 Dragoon, level 4 Geomancer,

Actually, if you'll pardon my interjection, Dark Knight requires Level 8 of those classes.

One of the key things that makes the Dark Knight worth the effort is the fact that its abilities are sword skills, and as a result, always have a 100% chance to hit. Also, Sanguine Sword and Infernal Sword (if I got those names right) have a limited horizontal range, but not vertical range, making them useful even on maps with very different heights.

Vehemence is also a powerful support ability. The +50% Attack bonus far outweighs the -50% Defense penalty, especially when coupled with the Dark Knight's offensive abilities and a strong sword.

Since Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions came out for psp. They added a lot of new content and changed a lot of the games script. Besides a few slow downs for certain abilities, its a great remake of the first game. If your interested you should definitely buy it from AmaCon.

Remember that the only way to play as a Dark Knight is to have a GameShark, and this cheat is only for the PSX Version.
For PSP Version, you gotta master so many job that Dark Knight becomes at that point useless...

Not at all, it takes a long time but you are rewarded well for your efforts. If you have not played the psp version than assuming its not worth it by looking at the job requirements is folly.

Ultimage has a point.U can't jus be a dark knight like that.It takes time and effort. But if u do take ur time with it,it will be worth it.

I've been at the game, (Just got it for Christmas) for about an hour or two, and I'm about a quarter way done with the knight mastery. I wanted to know if anyone has any idea to get to DK as early in the game as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpdzxdLN7UQ

Kind of pointless though. Maybe just for youtube credit of having the appearance of a low lvl and little work?

Mind if I ask a question? Does that one character have to have killed 20 enemies? Or does that just have to be the total kill count?

Well first i would delete a post or something before you get called out on double posting. Second it is for that unit. Ive also heard they have to crystallize but i think thats a myth since crystals are not a 100 % thing. Its really easy. Unless your using the character to heal everyone else, or do status damage. getting 20 kills shouldn't take long.

They don't specifically have to crystallize, but they do have to have their countdown expire and either turn into a crystal or a treasure chest. And to answer your question, RagingHeretic, that one character has to be responsable for the killing blow on each one of those 20 enemies; your overall kill count being at 20 is not enough.

What if the enemy that you kill is undead? Does it count as a crystallization if the countdown expires and he comes back to life?

i dont think so, im pretty sure the enemy has to actually die, not just be resurrected because they are undead

Okay. I have the Dark Knight, and I'm now in chapter two. He is mastered completely. I have Ramza as a Squire for better equipment uses. He is not dealing as much as I would like him to do with the Darkness skills. Does it make that much of a difference in using the Dark Knight class? The Ramza in that video was easily doing over 100 at level 15, and mine is at level 26.

Do you have Vehemence set as his support ability? Though it looks to be identical to Attack UP with the added drawback of halving your defense, it actually boosts your attack by more than the Geomancer ability. Once I set that, I found that I was able to defeat my enemies before they could attack me, more often than not.

Yes. I changed him back to a Dark Knight, and he was still using Vehemence. It went up to about 102 of Gaffgarion during the Lionel Castle Gate battle, but he still greatly out leveled him. Should I use the level up and down with a chemist, then go back with a Dark knight?
