![]() There's an comic artist forum I frequent called The Drawing Board. They have multiplle boards that focus on whatever aspect of the art they're interested in, such as a superheroes board, a girls board natch, and a illustrations 'n sketchbooks 'n so forth. They've gotten into the habit of creating monthly drawing jams for each board and have just recently added one to there animation board. The idea is to have everyone do an animation of a frisbee entering one side of the screen, then exiting the other side and they can create whatever chaos happens in between. This is my submittion. It was a blast to make because it was completely up to me to animate what happened. There was no dialogue I was obligated to stick to, so it was complete freedom. It was very fun to make and that's prolly why I got it done so quickly. This post has been edited by Narratorway on 27th June 2007 08:16 -------------------- |

Most excellent. Good motion and everything. Looks professional to me.
I noticed two things when the guy was laying down at the end. The joint at his right elbow (and left I'm assuming) seems a little odd or unnatural. As does the left knee joint in his left pant leg (right knee seemed ok). Was it just the angle? -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

No. Those are deformation issues the computer has when bending a joint. It's a common issue with any rig and there are ways around it that are far too complicated for me to figure out. I realized how far back this problem goes when I watched Toy Story recently and I noticed that Woody's arms and legs have it so the joint areas - knees, elbows shoulders etc. - are stitched closed so they wouldn't even had to deal with the problem when animating him. Since my character is also pretty skinny, I'm willin to let something like that slide for now.

Ah yes, this would be a quicktime movie file. The Quicktime Player is free, though I will play straight and say that they've implemented an annoying 'update' system to their player that I could do without, but it's tends to be a once a month thing.
