Well, the near-impossible happened and I jumped back into Pokemon, in large part because a friend of mine recently bought Platinum and was seeking trades.

Right now my dex is at 449 owned and about ~460 seen. I know I still have most of the Diamond/Pearl legendaries left to hunt and I haven't been to a giveaway event other than Darkrai over a year ago. But the bottom line is, if anyone here wants something that isn't a legendary or a Lunatone (the *one* version-locked pokemon I'm missing I think) I can probably breed one. And if someone has a Lunatone or a legendary something to offer, I'm very interested. Especially if it's a Palkia, Mew, Celebi, Jiraichi, Shaymin, or Manaphy.

I could hook you up with a Celebi, and I also have a spare Jirachi (though annoyingly I'm pretty sure its hacked. Seems legit in all respects except its in a Masterball.) Shaymin I may also be able to help you out with, but it really depends on what you have to offer. For the record, my dex is complete (barring Arceus) so tbh I'm only interested in well IVed Pokemon. Bear in mind I'm yet to get Platinum so this would be trading with Diamond.

As to Platinum, as I mentioned, I'm still yet to get it, however with exams drawing to a lose, I'll finally be able to purchase it. I tasked another forum with picking my team, so as to give myself at least a bit of a challenge (and to stop me going for a Gyarados every damn run through.) Hopefully it should be fun, we'll see. I can't actually wait to get to the Battle Frontier though, and the Move Tutors will make for some fun movesets on otherwise neglected Pokemon.

One other thing that is beginning to interest me on the actual console game front (recently I've been using my DS less and less, and logging onto ShoddyBattle more and more) is RNG manipulation; essentially, taking advantage of the game's intricate mechanics in order to swing the probability in your own favour in the act of breeding, and catching. Some people consider it cheating, but ultimately its no different from soft resetting for legendaries, only it takes less time, but extra knowledge and effort. Either way, I know i'll have a lot of fun/frustration playing around with the mechanics to see what I can rustle up.

I really don't do anything with IVs. I don't even do much of anything with EVs. I have a team of pokemon in the 80s and 90s level-wise that I do a teensy amount of battling with, but I'm not serious in that regard - I mostly just play to catch them all, I suppose.

Since I don't have any IV-bred pokemon to offer, would you be interested in a rare TM or HM instead? I'd really, really like those rares you're offering.

Well, if you can find a way to connect, then I'd love to trade. Try going to a Starbucks or something.

Earlier in the week I had one of my friends over and we did some trading/battling for a few hours. I now have a Lunatone and a Jirachi, but I still need those others: Mew, Celebi, Shaymin, and Palkia.

Well sadly I wouldn't be able to trade you a hard copy of any of them, but I'd happily do a free trade/trade-back for all of them. At least they'll be 'caught' on your dex, and you can search the GTS for them if need be.

In case anybody here doesn't already know about it, Serebii's WiFi Chatroom is pretty handy to find any Pokémon you're looking for. It was very useful in the completion of my Pokédex, so give it a shot.
