Name your favourite airship from the FF series, and why you like it above the others.

The Great Ship/The Invincible, from FF3. That thing had EVERYTHING: free sleeping quarters, vending machines, the Fat Chocobo, artillery support against monsters. Everything.
Second would be the Nautilus, also from FF3. Super fast and with underwater gear, it was just too good. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. That thing had EVERYTHING: free sleeping quarters, vending machines, the Fat Chocobo, artillery support against monsters. Everything. I am gonna agree with ya on that one. In the DS version, it has a Moogle onboard, too, if you wanted to send a letter to your friends. I think maybe a close second is the Lunar Whale from Final Fantasy IV, if that counts. Like the Invincible from FFIII, it has a Fat Chocobo onboard and a free place to rest. -------------------- "You underestimate the strength of a Jedi's mind, Brejik. Hilda Garde 3 from IX. It wasn't flashy or well-equipped, but it still captured the right "feel" of the game's technological revolution.

I too dig me some FFIII Invincible. By far the most BA ship of the series. Never you mind that FFVIII Ragnarok. That's not a real Airship anyhow.

The Blackjack was a pretty awesome ship. Even though it was pretty small, it was a flying casino. Imagine if they made a giant airplane today that was actually a giant casino... That would be pretty kickass
The coolest airship in looks was the Highwind in FFVII. It's totally sleek and it has a cool name. |

My favorite actually is the Empire's airship from FFII. Granted, it may not look as stylish as other notables, but enslaving an entire town to construct it and using it to destroy cities/towns.

I'd have to go with the invincible from FFIX. I don't know why, but it just looks SO awesome.

Ima hafta agree with the VIII fans, it goes to the Ragnarok. And at least it wasn't the Celcius
Also... Ragnarok is the best name ever. It fits with the the VIII theme, as it carries the heroes to fight for the saftey of the universe, and ragnarok translates to, "Fate of the Gods" or more commonly referred as what happens after everything ceases to exist. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! The final airship from FF5. It had chairs, submarine, boat, airship, and super air ship.

The Hilda Guarde III has always been my favorite because of its music!! Hehehe. But I also like the point in the story where you get the HG III becuase it feels really big and exciting, like "I'm free! Free at last!!"
After that would be the Falcon, again because of its music. |

I've always been a big fan of the Highwind, personally, though I'd have to agree with the usefulness of the Invincible in FFIII.
As far as intimidation designs and such go, the plethora of summon-named ones from XII were hella awesome looking. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Greg |

I have to say the Falcon. In most of the games, getting the airship is basically a "We need to get somewhere and can only get there by airship" deal (or in FF8's case, "We need to get back to earth"). In FF6, you already get the Blackjack through that plot point, then you go to get the Falcon for the back-up, but when you do so you learn more about Setzer and his backstory.
That's my favourite part of FF6, getting the Falcon and getting it out from underwater, the way it comes out from the water is amazing. The music is also one of my favourite pieces from that game. |

hmm
a lot of great airships, I'm going to have to go with the Highwind. Simply because it is Cid's pride and joy; Possible spoilers: highlight to view After Shinra had taken it away from him you eventually steal it back with Cait Sith and Barret. one of the greatest scenes in FF history with Tifa jumping off the end of a cannon and everything. Not to mention is has a babe painted on the side of it, show's Cid's character. Also it has a unique design that is simply beautiful. and it can house a chocobo, to boot. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

The Falcon, from VI. It's large, fast, and looks badass like a pirate ship.

You know I'd have to say the Blackjack. I like the Falcon's story better, but for sheer coolatude the Blackjack wins out. It always tickled me to see all the charecters who were out of your party walking around in it. Plus, didn't one of the crew-man have an Aussie accent?
Besides, anything that comes with Setzer is okay with me. -------------------- TURKEY! - (The only way not to get blocked for using Fowl Language) |
