They have nothing in common. that relationship would have never worked.

I think Umaro and Relm or Gau and Gogo would be funnier. But hey, that's just me.

I somehow thought Gogo and Umaro's almost magnetic attraction was rather unmistakable...
Anyhoo, it'd be an abandonment of Terra's emotional position if she was capable of becoming involved in a romantic relationship, with Sabin of all people, at the drop of a hat despite not even understanding the concept of "love" til near the end of the game. I think the way it all worked out - that is, her caring for the orphans and taking things slowly as she learns to exchange trust in people - is leagues more profound than it would have been had she fallen for any of the guys. And that's not just 'cause it's practically a rule that RPG heroines who aren't a part of the game's main lovers pair are destined to remain alone, renting old videos and inhaling gallons of Ben & Jerry's each night for the rest of their lives. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. This thread is so random. xD Terra and Sabin hooking up wouldn't have made much sense, unlike Locke and Celes, which was obviously inevitable from the time he saved her.

Was there a debate here recently about whether or not Sabin might be gay? I mean, that'd just end up confusing Terra more, I suppose.

Ages ago, when I first started writing fanfiction, I had them as a couple. Mostly because I thought Terra was neat, and I thought Sabin was neat, so wouldn't it be great if they were a couple?
Assuming the end of the world, and then the end of Kefka, changes them a little, there's potential for a romance there. They do have a few common bonds; they like living simply, for one. It may not work eternally, but they might try it. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

For some reason, Terra and Edgar or Terra and Setzer seems like the better coupling. Maybe Edgar and Relm, though (that one scene.....). Or maybe Terra and Gau. There was a scene where Terra and Celes were flirting with him. (when Sabin and Setzer was trying to gentrify him for his father) -CSM

Meh. I just liked Tina without anyone, since, y'know, the whole incident with so-and-so. She's a much better 'mama' than anything.

Quote (Crazyswordsman) There was a scene where Terra and Celes were flirting with [Gau]. (when Sabin and Setzer was trying to gentrify him for his father) Flirting? I thought they were merely commenting on what clothing would suit him best, just like the guys were. I had no idea offering tips on one's ensemble qualified as flirting. Then again, perhaps I'm just old fashioned. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. Terra and Sabin eh...well they never really talk to eachother and have a conversation. If Terra would hook up with somebody i'd have to say
-1/50 on this one but she did have a intersting talk with Shadow -Edgar is a ladies man he'd probably "spring" on her sooner or later I 4get who but somebody said her and Setzer...did you take a look at Setzers portrait in the menu screen idk if thats hair or veins on his face or what, well either way too much makeup Pink is his color -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. They're Setzer's trademark facial scars that he received following an airship crash some unspecific number of years prior to when the game takes place. Plus he doesn't wear any makeup. Personally, I always thought that if Terra absolutely had to fall for someone, it'd be either Edgar, Setzer, or someone completely unfamiliar to us whom she met post-game. Course, she and Setzer don't really connect too much throughout the course of the game, but ya never know what could happen. I'm still particularly fond of the Terra/Setzer pairing though, if not simply 'cause I believe they'd at least look good together. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. dont know if this is a spoiler but meh
are you talking about the crash Setzer made with whats her name Daryl...well she did make a crash there right? i could be mistaken. Back to the point like i said above Edgar just cus he wouldn't be with like the young kid Relm and i think theres only 3 girls in the game....maybe Mog?So Edgar and Terra would be a good couple [EDIT]edited spelling [EDIT]edited spelling again This post has been edited by Dragon King on 2nd May 2006 00:53 -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. I don't think Edgar would be a good match for any of the girls, actually. He needs someone as flirty as he is, to keep up.

None of the guys are a good match for Terra. I like to think of her as having met some nice bloke a few years after the war and settled down - someone anonymous who won't go dragging her aound the world adventuring, cause she's got those ids ot look after.

Ok, here goes...
I made a fanfic about Edgar hookin' up with his ex-bodyguard, who he thought had been dead for a year when FF6 began, but was actually Gogo, yeah. Then Daryl was one of those green guys, and many more. Hey, wait! WHere did you guys see the Terra/Sabin fanfic? What's the website, hm? -------------------- Ah, so, yeah, I'm sabinscat's twin, so who cares? Just. Check. This. Out. Invite me [email protected], but tell me who you are. |

I know it's late in coming, but I just dont get to check out forums as much as I'd like to so...but anyway, IMHO, Edgar would be the best match for Terra from among the characters in-game. Why? He expressed interest in her early in the game-albeit probably just his innate flirtatiousness at the time. But who wouldn't fall for Terra after getting to know her and seeing how awsome she is? (My opinion, of course). She has what I believe the type of sweet but strong personality that settles the players down. Plus, Edgar is a king-a powerful and presumably rich person who could accomidate Terra and the kids of Mobliz more than comfortbly. He has a castle, after all. PLUS, in the beginning, Terra said something about Edgar to the effect of:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view "A normal girl would probably have found him dashing. But I'm hardly...normal..." After the defeat of Kefka, magic was obliterated and Terra survived. Would that not have made her more a 'normal' girl? Thats a subtle but powerful deduction. What do you think? |

None of the characters really seemed "romantic" to me. Cyan already had a wife (who died
I don't know...I just think none of the FFVI characters had anything in common and were any bit interested in each other, except Locke and Celes. |

The very first time I played the game, I thought Locke and Terra would end up together, just from their interactions at the beginning, the whole 'I'll always protect you' stuff and all. It makes you wonder if he would keep to that after falling for Celes...

Obviously not because he was more interested in Phoenix to revive his first than either.

There is a moment in the scenario, when Terra, Locke, Celes, Shadow and General Leo are going by ship from Albrook to Thamasa. There is a very short talk between Terra and Leo and it doesn't actually mean anything...
...but then again you know life. She's young, scared and lost - needs safety and understanding. He, on the other hand, seems to have a lot of life behind him. He's experienced, wise and knows a lot about life. Among other characters in the game, he seems the most fit for Terra (if not actually made for her). Sabin? As much as I love him, he's a young hothead. Edgar? You know Edgar. Setzer, Locke, Shadow and Cyan have (or had) someone else, Strago, Mog and Gau for obvious reasons are no serious candidates too This post has been edited by 221339 on 27th May 2006 20:00 |

Sabin's too much of a ... you know, a hotheaded guy. I think Terra would have been happy looking after the young children in Mobliz ... but then again, you never know.

Honestly, it's better for Terra's character that she doesn't get involved with anyone in-game. However, after the end, there are several possibilities.
I can see where Sabin would come to mind, mostly because of the first scene where Terra meets him, as she is obviously a little infatuated with him there. However, there's really nothing after that to merit a relationship. Edgar is another promising candidate, it just sort of fits. I have almost no evidence for this one, but it works ~_~ Setzer might go for it, possibly because he liked Maria, who looked like Celes, and Celes is almost identical game-play wise to Terra |
