Let's try to find the best gun in the game. The guns, a part from the Knight Blades are the most rare weapons in Final Fantasy Tactics. Lethal, Powerful and effectful, are useful since the +4 Attack of Mustadio's Romanda Gun, so we try to estabilish the best of them. The meter to judge is the utilty in storylines battle, the effect and the way to find it.
So i vote for Blaze Gun, useful in storyline battles, and very simple to have (stealing it to Balk). Moderator Edit Been done, merging. I would say the blast gun, it has the highest damage potential, and percentages and cursed status of the stone gun, along with it's lack of adequate power are enough to put it below the blast gun.

Quote (Sam @ 5th September 2006 03:42) But what i don't get is how come the blaze gun shoots ice elemental and the glacier shoots fire elemental.Should'nt it be the other way around Yeah I never understood that myself... When I am playing as chemist or mediator I tend to use the Mithril Gun more than anything else. Nothing sucks more than using an elemental gun and then running into a group of enemies than nullify or absorb that element. The stone gun is great but it's just so annoying to start off the battle petrified. |

I Never really used guns in FFT, But i'd have to say The Mithril Gun because that was the only gun i really ever used and the glacier gun.

The fun answer is that firehoses don't shoot fire, so why would a Blaze Gun? The real answer, of course, is that while we don't know for sure, it most likely falls into the Rich/Steady Sword category -- someone just didn't double-check their work. -------------------- Wasabi Viniagrette: Mix 1/3 C rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 2 tsp powdered wasabi. Anyone know if the Stone gun actually turns monsters to stone or just stones you. I gave up Mustadio to get it cause im dumb and didnt put any thieves in my party so i had to use a mediator to recruit the dumbass who equipped that gun before fighting my party. i thought it would turn your opponents to stone and i was really disappointed

Quote (dont chocobos rule? @ 1st August 2006 19:11) my guess is by putting on something that stops petrify, armor, accessory, etc....i like the Glacier gun best No that doesn't work, I know coz I tried it, and Mustadio still turned to stone when the battle started. Even though I love lightning, I'll have to say Stone Gun since it does more damage Hey did anyone know that there's a certain random battle in Germinas Peak that allows you to steal the Elemental guns and the Stone Gun? In the battle you face off with Chemists and Mediators. The Chemist are the ones with the good guns so aim for them. I got all the guns this way w/o having to Poach a deadly monster and go to and find them at random chance -------------------- In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. Hey wait!
...of course, I'm just speculating as I've never run into that battle before. -------------------- 'As the Sun touches the ocean - I know it touches you. As the night kisses the moonlight I still think of you.' - Milk, Inc. <3 |

You can enter the battle by entering Germinas Peak from Zarghidas Trade City. Of course there's a high chance that the Chemist w/ the Stone Gun will also have Maintenance -------------------- In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. My favorite gun is the Blaze Gun. It's just silly that the Blaze Gun fires ice-elemental bullets and then Glacier Gun fires fire-elemental bullets.

One of the other Chemists usually knows Soft and cures him, though. I personally like the Blast Gun/Blaster, as lightning is my favorite of the three elements and it's the strongest. By the way, in the PSP version, they did switch the Blaze and Glacier Guns so that the Blaze Gun shoots fire and the Glacier Gun ice. The Stone Gun is called 'Stoneshooter', though, which isn't really appropriate since it only petrifies you, not enemies. |
