Brachosaurs extinct?

I am playing FFVIAdv and was looking to steal some Ribbons from the Brachosaurs in Dinosaur Forest in WoR. I must have fought 50+ Tyrannosaurs but not one Brachosaur. Have they been removed from FFVI Adv? Did they get relocated somewhere else in the WoR?

They've not been removed or moved as far as I know. Odd that your encounter rate has been so low, but they are still there.

Well if at least one person has seen them, I will keep looking. And knowing my luck, the first Dino Forest encounter will be that damned Brachosaur! ><

Thanks!

Something i noticed about the brachiosaurs too, which was interesting, was that i only began seeing them more as i rose in level.

At lvl 40, i rarely ever saw even ONE, let alone survived it, and now that im over 50, i begin seeing them a little more often and in groups of two!!! YIKES!

My point being that for some reason, unless its coincidence, they are not showing to you maybe cause youre still on a low-ish level.

I dont know what your stats are though, so its just a theory that worked in my case...

It seems to me too, that your level affects what enemies you get in FF6 SNES. As I leveled up in the dino forest, the tyrannosaurs appeared more at a time the stronger I got.

I played the SNES FFIII, and even at levels 45-50, I never saw Brachosaurs. I always wondered about that too.

You may very well be right, that, given how strong those monsters are, the game is programmed not to throw them at you until it can infer that you're at approximately a sufficiently high level.

I saw em. At least in the ones for the SNES and The Playstation. And they are tough cookie to beat. Right off the bat, they cast Ultima, which does an average of 5000 to 6000 damage! but if you beat em, you get an economizer happy.gif

even at high levels i still rarely encountered them, but are worth the fight even if you have to kill about 2-5 just for one economizer.

Most of my characters are between level 39 and 44 so I guess I'll just visit them again. And I know, I wouldnt be able to beat them at that level.. but just a nit-picky observation I made. biggrin.gif

My first fight in the forest was a brachiosaur. Even at level 80 I never find the brachiosaurs in pairs, though I can surround them. They can also snort your party, which they did to me on my first fight. blush.gif Ironically, they carry ribbons, the only relics that will really save you from their devastating disaster move. laugh.gif

My Gogo theory: Gogo came from a secretive clan of mimics that lives in a WoR exclusive area and when they were exposed in the WoR Kefka fries everyone except Gogo and he doesn't want to talk about his past because he will remember the death of his people. Because Lady Luck spits on him he ends up in the Zone Eater.

Level does not affect encounter rate. In addition, Brachosaurs never appear in pairs, so DrkMagimaster282 was just spouting nonsense.

Then what's the encounter rate of brachosaurs versus tyrannosaurs? Most of my fights in the dino forest are tyrannosaurs, a few other enemies, and no brachosaurs.

I've been getting them at level 50ish, on the snes ver. but the Brachosaur has always been the type to keep its dino-legs closed... eh.gif

i was just in that northern part of the Veldt and those brachiosaurs are really rare to encounter.
sometimes it takes about 10 tyrannos to get to a brach.
but they are tough! disaster always takes me out
but if they don't cast disaster i'm fine.
the brach also drops an amazing relic, celestriad, all spells cost 1 mp, i love it!
