Well, I've been keeping a random blog going that seems, for all intents and purposes, totally anonymous, so I can just freely write this tale out when the mood strikes. The downside, however, is a lack of feedback. I've gotten some from friends I've pointed to it, but I'd like a little outside commentary.

So, this is what I've written there so far. I'm not sure if the rules on linking to an external side would apply to a blog of this nature, so I'ma just going to post the, uh, posts here. Enjoy, I hope.

Where I Wake

First Movement: Prelude

My lids parted to blades of grass, waving before my eyes.
I could feel their gentle caress as the wind danced with them, brushing them against the flesh of my exposed arms, legs and face.
The grass was tall, a lush emerald green, capturing in it all the warmth of the sun above, just as I did.

Smiling, I rolled on to my back.
Overhead the clouds drifted lazily along, stark white against that cool, calming blue of the infinite heavens. I reached up, hoping to touch it, hoping to be there, but let my arm drop lazily to my side once more.
I didn’t need to be there. I was already here.
I smiled wider.

Laying there a while longer, I just let go, taking in this world – the tender breeze, the hush of the grass’ green fronds, the radiant sunshine washing over me.
It wasn’t until then it first occurred to me: who was I?

Standing slowly, I first looked down upon myself, taking in the comfortable clothes adorning me; a creamy tee, broad pants of a soft blue, and a simple pair of leather sandals that I wiggled my toes in.
I then looked up to take in the world around me. Where was I? Furthermore, did it matter?
Green hills stretched out around me striking down into a valley. Trees were scattered here and there, gathering in proximity nearer the basin. Wisps of smoke then caught my eye, as I noticed a small village there nestled. Again, I thought, did it matter?
This place is beautiful.

Looking down once more, I noticed a stick laying in the grass next to where the fronds still lay flat, as if beckoning me back into the bed I awoke from.
“Not now,” I said aloud. “I need to know.”
Bending down, I took the stick in hand.
It felt comfortable, like it had always belonged. This made me smile.
I struck on, then, into this unknown place.
I found it fitting, though.
An unknown person in an unknown place.
A lot of stories started just like this.

First Movement: Sonata I

The walk down from the hills seemed long. Although, upon reflection, that may have been due to the leisurely pace at which I strode. However, in a place such as this, it’s what seems to be demanded; one does not walk, or jog, or possibly even run – one sauntered and strolled, one took it all in.

I arrived at the foot of the grassy mounds beneath the boughs of the basin’s forest. It was a still calm but for the occasional creak or groan as they shifted in the wind. But these sounds did not seem out of place. No… They fit… They fit with serenity of the scene I beheld before me.
The wood was compelling, though, the pine-needled branches spreading out above me, reaching for one another. Some touched, some entwined, while others just stretched out longing and alone. All alone…
I thought then that I knew how they felt… I don’t know why I felt that, I just did.

It’s not that I felt alone in this strange, new world. No, by no means. I never felt more at home… I think. No, it was just something deep inside me, that told me that at some time, I knew how they felt, as I had been the same: longing, but grasping at nothing.

A new sound quickly chased those thoughts away, however.
It was faint, distant, explaining why I’d not heard it at first.
I cocked my head, straining my ear to listen beyond the breeze, beyond the grass whispers, beyond the calls of the forest, to hear… music. I set off toward it.

Lingering at the edge of the forest, I continued on, hearing the sound grow more and more clear. Like wood on wood, a hollow, yet warm sound.
Dangling from the branches above me as I stared up, music sounded from every breath of the wind. A new tune with each exhale. It near stole the very breath from me as I gazed upon the wind chimes, hanging there to welcome passers-by, passers-by like myself.

Two feathers, looking like that of an eagle’s, hung with the hollow, wooden tubes, twirling slightly as the wind played at them, as if curious as to why they did not make music like that which surrounded them.
I smiled, though, for the amusement of the wind.
It played in my hair too.

Unfortunately, as this was an adventure, I decided it best that I move on. The village lay somewhere ahead, beyond the forest.
Yes, beyond the forest, but I would not brave it. It called for me, I knew, wanted to play with me, show me its secrets, but I would do that another day. I feared I would be lost if I went today.
Apologetically, I continued along the fringe.
“I am to the village,” I said to them.
They creaked and groaned.

“But I’ll be back.”
And I would be.
Just not today.

I am to the village.

Quite...

At the very least it is very fascinating to read, like looking at a victorian era poem of the mind and soul, and seeing what appears to be the essence of human reality.

Or its just an interesting blog to read...does remind me of a poem though...please continue blogging!

Thanks for that. Furthermore, upon having time to go through the forum rules again, I've found it's A-Okay for me to post the link to the actual blog. So, without further ado:

Again, feel free to drop comments here. Or there too, I guess.
