In the WoR you are able to skip ahead and do whatever quests you want!

All of the guides set a specific order you should do them with a little note saying "*the events in the World of Ruin can be performed in order you choose" or something similar.

So the topic question is: Where did (or will in the future) you skip ahead?

I jumped right into the colloseum and traded my Tintinabum for a Growth Egg.(I also tried to trade my Elixer for Marvel Shoes...But Cactuar killed me everytime.) Then I went and leveled at the Dinosaur Forest, and I just got Mog to join me. Now I'm going to get Locke so I can get the Rangarok and Cursed Sheild, Then I'm headed back to Dino. Forest to learn Ultima. Then I'm gonna take Locke to get some (Mega)Elixers on solitary Island.
I haven't decided what to do after that.

What did you do? / What will you do?

Generally I get locke next to last, after I've gotten a full party for both sides of the dungeon.

Terra usually first, then cyan, then whatever random place I wish to go smile.gif

I had a very predictable first event..

1) Get Shadow
2) Get Terra
3) Get Mog (and Moogle Charm)
4) Moogle Charm my way to get Gogo
5) Moogle Charm my way to get all the treasures in the Fanatic's Tower
6) Get Relm
7) Get Strago
8) Get Gau
9) Obtain Palidor and Tritoch. (Ice Dragon)
10) Get Umaro
11) Dirt (Earth) Dragon
12) Get Odin / Raiden (Blue Dragon) and Offering
13) Get Cyan (Storm Dragon)
14) Get Phantom Rush (Bum) for Sabin, which I never used because Blitzes are insanely hard for the FFVIA version.
15) White Dragon and Gem Box (MagiMaster, Fanatics Tower)
16) Get Locke (Red Dragon)
17) Ragnarok and Cursed Shield.
18) Gilgamesh, Leviathan, and Gigantaur. (Espers)
19) Treasure hunt
20) Beat Game (Gold, Skull Dragons)
21) Beat Game again (3 Illuminas and Atma Weapons)
22) Dragon's Den
23) Soul Shrine
24) GG
25) Gau's Rages... Annoying..

Defnitely put off getting Locke. Loved him, but it was a hassle going through the cave.

I also neglected Cyan's dream as long as possible, because it seemed tedious.

I get Mog. Bye bye, random encounters.

And of course, after that, I immediately go get Relm.

I always hated the fact locke was so hard to get back, he was always my character. So usally i dont get him till i have enough people for two full teams. Then i just go to work on getting my charecter back and giving him all the cool stuff he still needs to learn. Usally though the first mission i do is get mog back, then do umaro, since narshe still remains the easeist place in the game. then i go after cyan. After that it's who ever i feel like.

Lately, I just don't get any of them. I just go with the three people i have to get: Celes, Edgar, and Setzer and just beat the game like that. Three people is more than enough, the game's easy as it is, but still enjoyable! If I have done anything extra lately, it's probably just making money because I love it when I have my money maxed out. shifty.gif Wish my life was that easy, kill monsters and your rich!! tongue.gif

Edit
Yeah, I knew laszlow, but you also knew what I meant. Accasionally, I'll get everything, but I at least like to try to make Kefka a challenge. tongue.gif

Well, three isn't more than enough, it's exactly enough. You're required to set up a minimum of three parties to conquer Kefka's tower. But I'm sure you already knew that, if you've beaten the game with onlyl those three....

I usually get Sabin on the way to Nikeah, and then after Daryl's tomb I get Gau first (he's the easiest), then Terra, then Shadow, then Relm, then Strago, then Cyan, then Mog, then Umaro, then Locke, then Gogo. All of the other quests that don't involve getting characters are done as I remember them, basically.

I did a MAJOR skip.

I went to Kefka's tower and got the fixed dice, I teleported out of there immeadiatly afterwards.

I can't believe I went in there with three level 35-40's one level 50 and everyone else below level 35.

I did mine in about the same order as everyone else. I made sure I did Locke last because I was dreading going into the Phoenix Cave. I also made sure to get Edgar as quickly as possible because I made him my best character and I like to have him in my team. wub.gif

Got some reading for you, this is the original version, hopefully a lot of it stayed the same.

I arrived in the World of Ruin at level 13. A new player would be eaten alive, but I had to get Mog and Moogle charm right away, I get other characters first in no particular order without leveling. But I have to get the characters without a stipulation of a battle. But it's locked as one of the first and relm and strago last.

But I do get them all without leveling, I have a save state of this. I get items with the characters or whenever I'm ready to get them then I level up magic in the fanatics tower.

With the moogle charm doing Cyan's dream is easy if you don't want those enemies on the veldt. I bring locke to steal the Safety bit from Wrexsoul, and in the cave part of the dream when you're in the armor for the last time if you bring Terra she'll know techmissle and x-fer like in the beginning.
