You those really long "I agree" and "I do not agree" notes that you go through when installing something, or register for something. Do you ever read them? i do sometimes when i have time.

Who is going to read a 2 hours time wasting worth of terms of use? Not me.

I usually do for things I care. Like my limited edition Fileden account. I did too with CoN and other sites to see what is and what isn't against the rules (mainly forums).

CoN's Term of use is one of the two Terms of use I read BEFORE registering my account.

Well, there are some parts I may not remember over time but still. cool.gif

Never. Just in case there's a clause stating that if you've borrowed this game from a friend and are installing it you could be sued by a company from a far off land. And it's best knowing that you don't know.

No. I don't think I read the CoN Terms of Use (sorry R51, I haven't broken any big rules though right?) I did read the rules, and I do so for all forums, but never the Terms of Usage. Ever.

I don't read them. When it comes to CoN, I look at posts that moderators have locked, figure out why they locked them, and try not to make those mistakes. So far it's worked.

There's nothing better than cozying down with a good Terms of Use book. I do it every evening.

(Seriously, though, I do skim the Terms of Use to make sure there is nothing outlandish there.)

Never. I am usually more interested in getting to what is inside. I DO read terms of use when it comes to internet pornography, however. I would hate to get billed a ridiculous amount of ducats just for a few *ahem* minutes of use...

No 99% of the time. I wouldn't have time to do anything if I read that kind of thing all the time.
I read the forum rules to a couple of forums and that's about it I think.
Just think, these people who make games could put the weirdest stuff in their terms of use, and who would know?

Answer: Almost no-one (based on a guess, but come on people)

I don't read terms of use, nor forum rules. Forum rules are rather obvious as they don't vary much, occasionaly if I'm wondering about something I'll glance at them to see if the rules could guide me - but otherwise it's obvious what's allowed and what isn't.

Terms of Use for forums I always look at, glance not read. Anything else no. They are ridiculously low. And just incase the website with the terms is smart, I scroll down (the bar with the terms) before registering that way I don't have to waste five minutes of my life entering my details again.

Forum Rules I may browse when joining a new forum. Usually not though.

Terms of use? Never.

We'll keep this in mind when deciding whether to grant leniency when you break some of those rules you didn't bother to read.

I always read forum rules. In fact, I compulsively read regulations in general, even those that don't apply to me. It's not so much out of a desire to follow them as to know what restrictions people are trying to put in place, because I rarely if ever obey the stupid ones.

But EULAs? Oh, please. It's just a bunch of legalese that's intended to be long and confusing so no one bothers to read them, and, thanks to their intentionally deceptive nature, courts aren't usually willing to uphold them. Take that, Sony!

I always read forum rules. On the forums I actually join, I check to see if there are any rules particular to that forum, such as this forum's avatar and sig restrictions. Sometimes I read other forum's rules, out of curiousity.

I NEVER read EULAs. I don't realy care what they have to say, and since I don't really like to make pirate copies, they don't concern me much.

I never did untill a friend of mine told about this guy who read the terms of use and there was a line that stated if you read the terms of usage that they would pay you $10,000. It was toward the bottom of a 3 page deal so youd almost have to read the whole thing just to catch it. And according to my friend the company made good on the deal. True or not , it was enough to convince me to read them.

Never ever. I just can't read anything that's more than a few paragraphs long unless it's a book. Maybe if they made the terms of use pretty with pictures every two paragraphs, I might be inclined to read it. As for the forum rules, I read some.

I skim over forum rules (seem to vary depending on the forum), but I can't afford to waste time reading terms of use for every little thing. xD

I generally don't read those things. ^^; I mean, they could be saying that I have to sell my left eye or something and I'd be obliviously clicking, "I Agree".

Terms of Use, Terms of Service, Terms of Endearment...whatever the terms are, I usually don't read 'em. Other rules will get a once- or twice-over, although "good behavior" isn't too hard to muster up after visiting a few forums.

I just skim through 'em and click/checkmark "I agree". I see no reason why I should read every single word when I'm positive I'm going to include myself to whatever it's about.

Looks like some pretty interesting coments. By the way, who put "Comedy "I don't read poll options" vote" on the poll board?.

Last time I checked, yes.

And I usually read the stuff, even though that usually doesn't change how I use it. If I seriously dislike the terms of use/EULA (such as "we get to keep identifiable records of exactly how you use our product", then I might try to find an alternative product.

I read forum rules and other rules but not really terms of use. They're too long and I can never be bothered really.

Oh, I thought this was in regards to the CoN's Forum Rules, which I read in fear of all the
active superadmins. Otherwise, unless warned by Slashdot that something installs more
than it should, I don't every worry about software TOU.
