Taken from another forum this continues off of who you would be in FF3. What would be, what would do and be like?

This could go in General Final Fantasy discussion, but I like the way the stats are in this game.

In Final Fantasy if you were a self-insert character what would it be? Kinda like RP but what would your special ability be? How well are your stats and how would you effect the overall game?

I don't have a lot of time so I'll quicky say mine.

Fight
Lamp
Magic
Item

That's what it would be for me, my ability is like the FFV Lamp where I would random cast a free summon depending on the Espers we had. The Lamp has to charge like Cyan's but more quickly to balance the ability but it can do the same Esper twice.

My Vigor, Defense, Magic Pwr, Attack, and possibly MagicB would be strong. I'm not the quick type so I would possibly equip what Edgar and Terra and Cyan might be equipped with. Where I lack in speed I make up for in Wisdom and Strength so I shall help the Returners find new special magic.

If you can think of anymore yourself, please post it.

My Move-set:
Game
Eat
Magic
Item

(Like Gau I have no Fight/Attack command! I was never physically strong.)

Game:
1 out of 3 random Gaming Consoles would appear and each has its own effect.
GameBoy (50% rate) Uses my weapons attack power but converts to magic.
-Appearance- A GameBoy would appear and a laser shoots up and off-screen it then comes down and hits the enemy.
PS2 (30% rate) Similar effect to GameBoy except does 1.5 times the damage.
-Appearance- A PS2 pops up out of the ground, I take the controller and the console rushes through the enemy with a blur effect (Similar to Cyans abilities).
NES (20% rate) Heals the entire party with power depending on my level.
1-30 = Effect like Cure
31-45 = Effect like Cura
46-98 = Effect like Curaga
99 = Double power of Curaga but drains 25 MP. If I don't have the mana, just does a Curaga.
-Appearance- The NES appears and the word "Nostalgia" appears over the party, little sparkes rain down as the word "Nostalgia" lifts off-screen.

Eat:
Similar to Edgars "Tools" except I use "Snacks". They are consumable similar to Shadows "Throw". A nifty combo of 2 of my favorite skills.
Apple:
Has the same effect as the best available potion in the partys inventory.
EX: If the party has 5 Potions and one Hi-Potion I would use a Hi-Potion but the party would still keep the one Hi-Potion.
-Cost and Location- 3,000 Gil each at various shops and can be found in chests.
Jalapeno:
Medium Fire damage to all enemies.
-Cost and Location- 750 Gill at various shops.
Soda Water:
Medium Water damage to all enemies.
-Cost and location- 750 Gil at various shops.
Prune Juice:
Casts Esuna on one random ally
-Cost and location- 1,500 Gil at various shops. Found in chests.
Vitamin:
An attack similar to drain except with double power.
-Cost and Location- Only available after my sidequest. 1,500 Gil
Chocolate:
Casts Haste, Protect, and Shell on me and does a minor magic attack to all enemies.
-Cost and location- Available after my sidequest. 5,000 gil. Found in Kefka's Tower.
Power Bar:
Large Magical attack to all enemies.
-Cost and Location- Available after my sidequest 7,500 gil. Found in Zone Eater's Belly.

My initial stats:
Strength: 0
Magic: 41
Stamina: 30
Speed: 15
Defense: 50
Magic Defense: 70
Magic Evade: 20
Evade: 1

Equipment:
Weapons: Knifes, Daggers, Staffs, Controllers.
Armors: Light Armor, Robes, Heavy Armor
Shield: All

Controllers:
Similar to Setzer's Gamblers I would have 3 special controllers.

D-Pad:
Location- Initial Equip
Power: 35
+ 7 To magic
+ 7 To Magic Evade

Joy Stick:
Location- Jidoor Auction house. 500,000 Gil.
Power: 60
+ 15 To magic
+ 15 To magic Evade
+ 15 To magic Defense

16-Button:
Location- Bet Joy Stick at the Coliseum and fight Atma(Ultima) Weapon.
Power: 90
+ 20 To magic
+ 17 To Magic Evade
+ 20 To Magic Defense
+ 10 To Evade
+15 To Defense

My Sidequest:
Long Story Shortened- Land the Airship, do a dungeon, fight a boss, unlock "Roberts House" as a location.
At the Roberts house location you can look at stuff, get an elixer from the clock, and in the Kitchen you can buy every "Snack" in the game.
(I might go into detail later)

Ohman. I'd be one of those scholar characters who's either REALLY awesome (Olan FFT) or utter crap (Edward FF4). More toward the latter, I fear. My defense stat would be wretched, but my strength would be decent. Better than Relm's, I'd like to say. No magic because this is FF6 and I don't know magic.

FIGHT
VERSE
ITEM

"Verse" is the mysterious ancient skill known only to they that are called... "English majors." I could boost the stats of my party members to extr33m degrees with my storytelling skills. And my weapon would be a dictionary, without doubt.

My HP would be 40.

Fight
Draw
????
Profit

Those are usually the options I have to choose from in most daily situations.

I'd be a lot like Edward from FFIV, I suppose. Only I fight with a sword, even though I'm not that strong. Basically, yeah, useless.

Unless you count my profit ability, which allows me to procure gil.

You're welcome, by the way.

Ooh, fun!

Moves:

FIGHT
KICK
PLAY
ITEM

Fight - Weak. Very weak.
Kick - I do a martial art, so kicking is appropriate. Maybe like Yang's Kick command?
Play - Edward has a harp, and I use a clarinet! Can randomly cause Sleep, Beserk or Confuse.
Item - Blah.

Equipment:

Wooden Clarinet - Starting weapon.
Metal Clarinet - Immune to poison.
Sharp Stick - Generic.
Mythril Pike - Stronger version of Sharp Stick.
Gold Clarinet - Able to drain MP to critical.
Bard's Clarinet - Ultimate Weapon.

Class: Geek.

Sidequest to Obtain:

In the Cave of Musicians, your party must make their way through a dungeon to reach the boss, the Band Conductor. She has 9999, 9999, 9999 HP, 999 MP, max stats and a magic attack called "Tutti" that can deal instant 9999 damage. Her weakness is Mute - She can be OHKO'd with it.

Then, I can be found in a computer lab in the room after the boss fight and be recruited. In the room where I'm found, an item called "Program" can be obtained from the computer that I face. When used in battle, it can cast Scan on all enemies, as many times as you wish, for no MP cost.

To get the Bard's Clarinet, simply fight the Band Conductor again, in the same place. This time, however, she will be immune to Mute. happy.gif

Stats: Low in Vigour and Stamina, but high in Agility and MBlock.

Class: Punkrocker

Mug
Rock
Solo
Item

Equipment: Guitars in place of swords, Amps in place of shields. Guitars are far weaker than swords, but are required to do higher level Jams. Amps Will increase MP capacity, but will still max out at 100 (think of MP as amp battery life)
Armor: The more scantily clad (but still equipped), the more your rock aura protects you, so the better armor covers less.

Mug:
True punkrockers won't just kick ur a$$, they'll take ur wallet too, thus Mug instead of Fight. But not traditional mug. It has a 100% chance of stealing something. Typical rates for stealing items is halved, you can get both rare and common steals off the same enemy, and the remainder of the stealing will be gil anywhere from 1-500 at a time.

Rock:
Think bard times a billion.
New "Jams" (songs) will be found at "inspiration" points in the game. Certain things will trigger new songs, and certain items in towns will inspire to songs as well. Jams always cost 1 MP.

Jams include:
Thrash - Attacks all enemies with double current attack power distrubuted throughout.
Slam - Suprises everyone. Resets everyone's ATB gauges.
Showboat - Confuses enemies
Ballad - Makes everyone sad, Casts slow on everyone but me.
Emo Verse - 100% chance that enemies target themselves for their next attack
Face Melter - Fire 3 on one/all targets
Hard Rock - Causes petrification on one enemy
Heavy Metal - (One use per battle!) Triples attack power of party's swords, knives, lances, and any other metallic weapon.

Solo:
Causes rest of party to back off, and sit down. I take on opponet solo, but Attack and Defence are multiplied by number of people in the party. (Thrash(X2) X Solo(X1-4) = Ownage!) If I die in this mode, it's game over. While in solo mode, the solo command slot changes to Applause.

Applause:
Concludes solo mode with a standing ovation by rest of party, resets stats to normal, casts curaga, and completely recovers party of status ailments. Must do at least one command in solo mode to recieve the recovery bonusses.

Initial stats:

Attack:75
Defence: 35
Magic: 10
Stamina: 75
Speed: 50
Magic Defense: 10
Magic Evade: 10
Evade: 5

Starting HP: 86
Starting MP: 5 (Will get up to 100 max)

Weapons are weak, but it's about the hand to hand. No evasion, b/c you don't leave the fight, you're in the thick of it the whole time. Magic will own you pretty well, unless in solo mode. MP is utilized mostly so that you don't have to make a special stat for amp battery life.
Speed and Stamina are high b/c you learn to play fast and hard.

The sprites will be a memory hog, becase there will be an ascention of amps, probably about 8 in total, and when each is equipped, it will show up differently during battle. Even when equipped with a guitar, the Mug command will appear as if attacking bare handed, and the Jams will have a guitar Swinging when activated.

In the end, It's all about the music!

This is great! I don't think I'd be very good in battle, but what the heck.

Class: Schoolgirl

Fight
Fangirl
Giggle
Item

Fight: Duh, we all know what this is.
Fangirl: I obsess over the enemies until they can't take it anymore. It can also backfire on the coolest guy, and I'd maul him instead.
Giggle: Like Sabin's blitzes, you need to press certain button combinations to unleash different giggles. Ex. Nerdy Giggle, Hysterical Laugh.
Item: (view Fight)

I'd only equip swords because....swords are the best! I'd equip the light armour, cloaks, etc. My attack would have to be decent, since apparently I don't use magic. My defense would suck and my speed would most likely be my best stat.

To get me:
Save me from school!1!!

Well, for starters, I'd be kinda like Cait Sith and sit on top of a giant Mog with a megaphone.

Class: Pink Mage (which is basically Celes of Blades-style Red Mage =P)

Magic
Squee
Diss
Item

Squee - 'Squee' is a support move that boosts the attack and speed of my favourite party member. I make their ego balloon by fawning over them.

Diss - An offensive move in which I, well, diss the enemies. New disses are acquired by levelling up and their function depends on what they are. For example, Burn would cast Fire3, Yo Momma would inflict confusion and Lame Insult would cause the enemy to sleep.

As previously mentioned, I'd equip megaphones. My attack would be completely useless but it wouldn't matter since none of my skills require strength.

Edit
Forgot this was FFVI; didn't need to add black AND white magic. >>;

Class: Linguist

Language
Magic
Item

Language would work a little bit like Strago's Lores. I would learn different languages of different kinds of monsters after battles with them. Then, if a party with me would encounter monsters speaking the same language, I could use the Language ability and find the appropriate language among others. If the player would choose a wrong language, nothing happens. But if he chooses the appropriate one, there will be a chance that the monster (if there's a group of monsters speaking the same language, only one of them) will be persuaded to escape. Of course the more you use a certain language, the bigger the chance of success will be. After using it about 40 times (depends on the equipment), you master it and the success rate reaches 100%.

Of course the language skill would be useless against bosses (which simply won't listen, no matter the language skills), but there is a good method to make it useful. Just put me in a party with Gau. When Gau starts his rage, just use the language of the creature he uses and a creature will appear figthing on your side (50% chance). Though you can't summon more than three creatures this way.

I would equip dictionaries and grammar handbooks as weapons. They wouldn't deal much damage, but they would boost my language learning ability. Though my magic would be rather strong, as well as the espers attacks would deal more damage, since all the formulas would be said with perfect pronunciation ;)

Class : Stuff Thrower

FIGHT (Fist Weapons only, REALLY strong cause I punch ALOT of things really hard for no reason..)
X-Throw (Throw but throws 2 things at once cause I'm like that smile.gif)
Insult (Insults enemy for a stat-down, cause I insult ALOT of people sleep.gif)
ITEM (I drink lots of water and powerades ^^)

So yeah, I'd have crazy speed (Ran 1/5 of a mile in about 40-43 seconds), but low health (My mile is only like 6:50 >_>). I'd hit real hard and X-throw would only be available after I have 1/3 or less health, to balance things. Insult would pretty much lower all the attributes of an enemy by a little bit (maybe like 1/4), and I'd get double benefits from items like Alchemists in FFV >_>

My abilities.

Rock Out: pulls out a guitar, it's like rage, except it's in categories like blues guitar, and spanish guitar. each ability is learned from specific npcs in certain towns.
Nap: Pulls out a pillow, lays down and goes to sleep, enemies will no longer target the character as long as he is asleep (this includes multi hitting moves, and after all the other characters have died) one of two animations will play once the characters round should have come around, either 3 Z's will appear from his mouth or a saw sawing a log will appear shortly above his head.
Magic
Item

equipment includes guitars, amps, picks, and light armor.

Edit
nap can only end once the battle is over, or once the character has been KO'd by his own allies, under such conditions it would have an auto-raise effect

So, like, what happens when everyone's dead and your dude is just napping? Reset button? Seems like it'd just be easier to call you dead.

when all characters are dead, I guess it'd be fair to have raise cast on one of the un-napped members, my character then wakes up, and nap is unusable for the rest of the battle.

although i think having an infinite battle with a napping character would be rather humorous.
