I heard it was titdus too, must be because he's a tit.

I think I would love to hear some of the meaningful philosophical conversations you and your friend must have.

LAWL.
There is no "i" in t-e-a-m, and there is no "tit" in T-i-d-u-s. It's meant to be pronounced Tie-duss, near as I can tell, but whatever floats your boat I reckon. Or your friends', for that matter. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

That's how I always said it, but I think it's pronounced like "tee-dus" in Kingdom Hearts. (We never hear his name in FFX or FFX-2, since it's the only one the player can choose.) "Tee-dus" since that sounds considerably less stupid.
I tend to do what sounds better, regardless of the correct phonetics. For example, "Saa-bin" as opposed to the ugly sounding "Say-bin" -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

Tie-dus to me, tee-dus to any game I've heard it in. This is interesting actually, because a friend of mine and I used to have arguments over how to pronounce a few things from FF7. He pronounced Reeve "ruh-vee" and that never made sense to me. He also pronounced Mako "man-ko" and I dunno where he got the n from. DoC came out though, and with it stupid pronunciations for Lucrecia and Yuffie, but it settled Reeve and Mako.

As much as I like Tit-dus, I've always thought it was Tide-uss as well. Teedus doesn't have any significance where as Tide-uss links in the game's water-themes; which would've made more sense. Plus it sounds better IMO. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Why is your friend adding a "t" to Tidus for? Whenever I pronounce him (never played FFX before, but..), I always pronounce it TIE (rhymes with die)-DUS (dust without the t).

He's Tidus to me. Titdus doesn't even make sense.

I pronounce it Loo-cree-seeya, but in DoC they prounounce the C sort of as a Caa rather than a ss. If anyone can explain this better then please go ahead. Btw I pronounce Tidus as Tie-dus even though in Kingdom Hearts it is Tee-Dus. Where the hell did your mate's T come from? Edit My first post in ages |

I keep hearing that Tee-duss is the correct pronunciation, but I have always pronounced it Tie-duss. And Bahamut sounds almost like the Bahamas to me too.

Just look at hw they pronunce Marquis in FF XII (I've mentioned this in another thread as well), they say Mar-kwiss, where the proper pronuniation is Mar-kee. It's always been Tie-dus for me as well, Tee-dus sounds weak. And how DO you pronounce Bahamut? I've always thought it was Bah-ha-mut. -------------------- Quote Do you think we're forever? |

I had heard something about Tidus being pronounced "Tee-duh" back when the game came out. Anyone remember that? I've always said "Tie-duhs" though.
