I was playing an online today and while i was typing the game minimized and all this stuff poped up, now whenever i press a key crap pops up on my screen. For example when i press the 'e' key 'my computer' opens.

Does anyone know why this is happening?.

You might have a virus or something that alters the keyboard. Try getting a used one and see if that changes anything, or else there's something up with your computer.

Also, what do you mean, "stuff pops up"? Do you mean random windows, or internet pop ups or what?

Like defferent task windows triggerd by the keys.

I know what your talking about. My dad has some kind of settings (if you would call it that) on his computer. It's sorta like speed dial, when you push one number on your phone to call someone, and you set it up to instead of clicking on it. When i push the "I" on my dad's computer, the Internet pops up like you say it. When I push the "H" button, any kind of disk/CD in the computer automatically loaded and showed on the screen without having to do all the clicking.

I forgot how it's done, but I will get more info when I find out. Until then...

Im betting virus, but you could try rebooting if you haven't already.

Could it be that your Alt key is stuck down? Test all your keys to see if any are pushed in, the same sort of thing happened with me.

This is true, as well as a virus, but there is also the possibility of another key being stuck, kinda like the caps lock capitalizing, or for my computer, the f-lock altering the f-keys to another function

Since there is no real sure reason, you should try all three things, meaning switch the board out, reboot, AND scan for virus/spyware

I have had it happen three times, the first time my mom was dumbfounded. Each time it was that a key was stuck down. So just play around with the windows key and the like. That's what I would bank on, more so than a virus.

I reset the computer and it's back to normal for now. If it happends again i'll let you know.
