Today, for the first time in about a year, there was snowfall in my home, London. Not just some frost, but real, proper snow. At break in school, we had a HUGE snow-fight! Year 9s and Sixth-formers against the Year 10s and 11s! The best bloody fun in a while, I'd say.

They say we're gonna get more snow tonight. All I can say is, bring it on!

Has it snowed in your countries yet? Do you like snow, or hate it (odd, there are SOME people)?

We got snow REALLY late this year.

I love the cold. I love shivering and feeling all numb from freezing my rear outside. And this isn't sarcasm - I really hate the summer, when it's all hot and, particularly, humid. Seeing as our winter is generally cool this year and not outright freezing, I'm really enjoying it.

The actual snow is an annoyance when it piles up on the sidewalks and I have to get to work in a hurry. But otherwise I don't care either way. I'm past the age of snowball wars and angry fire-breathing snowmen. But hey, it's just weird without snow, y'know?

We hardly ever get snow where I live man.And if we do,it is usally just 1 to 2 inches. But,one year, about 4 or 5 years ago,we had a big snowstorm. We had up to 16 inches.I had snowball fights galore with my friends that year.

It started snowing two nights ago in Cambridge, MA.

This comes after an unusually warm December, to boot.

That's exactly like what we had over here. December was the hottest yet, iirc, and now we got a (by English standards) HUGE snowfall. Usually, it's barely more than ice.

Denver has had quite the snow year this year. Perhaps too much snow.

But it's good to hear that places are finally getting snow. It's kind of troubling when you hear that some of the colder places in New England don't even have snow.

We've had only a dusting. Last year at this time, we were about to get a three-foot storm. I rather hope we get at least one of those this time around, because I like working from home. smile.gif

We had snow late last Saturday night. It wasn't coming down anymore by the time we went out to play at around two in the morning, but it was pretty thick on the ground. Better yet, it packed pretty well for snowballs.

It's kind of troubling when you hear that some of the colder places in New England don't even have snow.

You ain't just whistlin' "Dixie". It is jawdroppingly green here. I mean, there's some remnants of the last little snowing we had recently, but absolutely nothing worth getting excited over. Any normal year, New Hampshire would have about 3 feet of snow around now at least. Right now, there's about two inches at most. The state's taking a hit due to the lack of snow. Ski resorts are looking at record losses here. There's talk that due to the heavy statewide loss, NH might have to invoke a sales tax--the last state in the union that's holding out on it. This lack of snow is doubly disturbing for me. I love everything about it, sans driving in it (and even sometimes, it's adventurous rather than scary).

This morning I awoke to the most beautiful sight this season:
The entire neighbourhood covered in fresh, white snow ^^

It snowed twice this season here in Warsaw, but both times it were short bursts of snow-rain. thumbdown.gif

Yay for snow!

funny, San Diego has so far had one of it's coldest winters ever.
All this talk about the possibility of snow, Ironically all the nights it could have snowed, there was no precipitation.

I'm in PEI, Canada, where it's typical to get a 3-4 day blizzard soon after Christmas day. But we've had a really mild winter this year, no full-on blizzards yet, and no power outages. It only started to get quite cold in the past two weeks, the worst being about 10cm of snow in a day and a couple of days where it was -32c after windchill (that's roughly 5 inches, and -25 Farenheit, respectively.)

Today is was much warmer, it's currently -4 c (24.8 f). We've had less snow than usual, but there's still snow out there, and it was snowing as recently as yesterday.

I love snow and ice, but I hate being cold.

It sucked when Ontario didn't have snow on Christmas... were barely getting any snow either, only just recently. It was a pretty mild December, but now it's just plain freezing. thumbdown.gif

Last year everyone was excited because it was meant to be the snowiest Winter ever! Of course it was mild the majority of the time - with the exception of a half-hearted flaking which just made the roads perilous to drive on. Then this year it's been even worse; no clouds for 100 miles. I really wanted to get my cousin back for dropping our snowman's head on me a few years back.

Being in one of the more Northern and colder regions of California, I am actually surprised that we haven't had snow yet. Also it seems that it is getting warmer rather than colder these days.

Funny, the Onion is thinking the same thing:

http://www.theonion.com/content/news/north...y_freak_january

Chicago had one big snowstorm at the beginning of December, followed by six weeks of 40-50 degree weather. We just got our second snow last weekend. I'm a big fan of snow, but not cold. Not that I'm a fan of global warming, either. Can't wait to see what summer has in store for us...

Hooray... It snowed for about ten minutes this morning. Man.

Someone actually tried to make a snowball out of it, and that used up all the snow in the car park.

It snowed in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier this week. Granted, it was just bigger clumps of frost that melted several minutes after they hit the ground, but it was pretty frightening.

That said, I don't get to see any snow very often, given my living environment, so I'm afraid I'm not very knowledgeable regarding it.

It hasn't snowed here at all through the winter, which is a shame, I like the snow. I'm surprized it snowed in the south as well.
Oh well, we'll probably get some in August knowing british weather, or a random tornado sometime.
