Yeah.
So I feel bad for all the people in the chat.
They saw thiw abou five billion times while I was working on it.

It was originally the Anime USA mascot for he Guest Relations badge. After I finished I just tweaked the hair and eyes to make it Terra.

I'm very very happy with Tera and even more happy with my Magitek.
I'm not so satisfied with the background. I'll probably end up redrawing it later. It really looks like a two year old slapped it on.
Anyway.

You're right about the background, but other than that it looks good.

The face has a very Trigun style vibe to it. I like that. Detail work on the magitek is impressive. Not noisy or overly complicated like I tend to see machines drawn. Very solid in it's construction. All in all, good job. Wouldn't worry about the background. Blur the hell outta it and you'll be fine.

The Terra in Magitek Armor is very oh me my. I love the Magitek Armor!

It's good... for an anime styled drawing.

The background looks pretty flat, but the coloring and drawing looks nice. Great job on the work.

BTW the nose looks pretty ugly. Might wanna fix that unless if that's just your style.

New cheaters background. Not great, but still fits better than those stupid trees.
Also, when I drew it the tree was the only thing that -had- to be in the picture.

Yes, that nose style is the style I draw noses.
I'm sorry that so many people dislike it, but really. It's how I draw and like to draw my noses.

Also.. really don't expect non-anime/manga stuff from me. It's what I've always drawn.



Anyway. Here is the slightly less-bad background.
She has that white outline because I am horrible in Photoshop and can't really do much else to put an image over a background without it looking grainy and pixelated.

This is a really great piece, and, as usual, good timing too. Seemd like we needed a good piece of art round here.

As far as criticism goes, I have some good,some bad, and some both.

The face style is great, it's not what you usually see with a Terra pic.
The original background was a little hasty like you said, but the second offering is great.
As far as the outlining on the second piece, I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out, so I wouldn't worry over it too much.

Great Piece Hikaroo, hope to see more in the future. (but not when I'm in CoNchat...j/k)

You know, I was actually thinking the same thing. But you said you were happy with the way you drew her, so if that's the look you want I say go for it. Just because we're used to seeing unhappy Terra doesn't mean an artist can't have her smile for a change.

It seemed you considered the outline a bit of a necessary evil, so I did some fiddling of my own and tried to get rid of it for ya. Hope this is more what you were going fer.
