Hi, I registered just to ask this because I couldn't find it on Gamefaqs or any other FF resource. I also searched the forum extensively to try to find the answer and was unable to find anything about it, so if this has already been asked, please simply direct me to the link

I recently got bored and decided to try following the arrangement described by LeviathanMist in his perfect stats FAQ on Gamefaqs: LLG until the floating continent, etc, etc, ensuring everyone gets the maximum number of esper-leveling. Simple, and it wasn't too terribly hard (minecart was the only hard part, and I simply couldnt get a battle with bounty man to happen in Narshe so I missed that rage).

Now, on to my question.

I've just started leveling people up, and Terra was my second run to 99. Being that she started leveling from 6, she has 127 base MagPwr and alot of other stats. The others don't matter so much, but the level 99 and 127 base magpwr is relevant because..

Terra's not my illumina choice (though it wouldn't affect this), so she's using Enhancer, Aegis Shield, Mystery Veil, Minerva, 2x Earring. With this setup her MagPwr modified is 141.

With 141 (or 140 if I swap equipment around) magicpower, Ultima stops working. It does 200-300 damage. Everything else, of course, does insane damage. If I drop her magicpower to 139, then her Ultimas become normal. Removing the earrings doesn't affect this, and of course meteor is everything ultima would be anyway, but I've never seen this discussed or even mentioned: There's a high end damage bug? What?

I can't replicate this with any other spell, but that's logical since Ultima has the highest base power of any spell in the game. The obvious simple solution is to re-level her and leave her magicpower 2 points lower, since at 139 everything's normal.

Still, uh .. why hasn't this happened to anyone else?
