actually, while not easy, those bosses weren't extremely difficult, not even Kefka.
The most difficulty i had was against Chaddarnook [the painting in Owzer's house] Charm is a real bitch to get rid of. I thought the hardest one was Wrex Soul, it took me forever to figure out how to beat him and whenever I get to him again in a game, I forget...

I Agree none of the bosses listed were that much of a problem to me, Wrex Soul did give me a little trouble, until I learned X-Zone would kill him instantly, but IMO the hardest boss for me was Chaddarnook.

I thought all of the choices were moderate, but I went with Kefka because he was the toughest to beat of them all. However, I think that the toughest boss was the AtmaWeapon, it took me quite a few tries to beat him in the WoB, and I had to level a lot to eventually beat him.

I always hated those damn Tenticles in Figaro Castle...why can't they just leave me alone? But from those on the list i would have to go with Kefka, all those other ones are cake compared to him

Even though it is not really considered a "Boss" fight (I believe it does, though), the Guardian is the hardest in the game. The reason why, it's "INVINCIABLE"!

The whelk is pretty easy to beat.
![]() I'm going to base myself on a low-level game, because otherwise you can just whip out the atma weapon, your favorite meat-mincer, a genji glove, and an offering... or the good 'ol vanish/doom trick. The true difficulty of the game doesn't show itself when you can beat a boss in one hit. ![]() Dullahan is hard when you don't know how to fight him. He counters every attack with an attack that will kill you in a LLG. Otherwise, all's he has are magic attacks so... use Celes' runic until he runs out of MP. Then hit him with Rasp once and he's gone. Wall rings are another possibility. Doom gaze is a bit tough. If you load up on phoenix downs and avoid having a multiple of 5 in your level, you should be fine so long as you keep reviving dead people. High magic block helps a lot. MagiMaster is easy even if you don't have life3: cast Phantom on everyone and berzerk on him. Then just cast away - he won't counter with Ultima. Whomp. Final Kefka is hard. If you have economizers, you can keep Life3 up on your characters and go nuts with your best attacks - so long as you can keep Life3 up, you're safe. If you don't have economizers, you're screwed on physical attacks since you won't be able to keep the Life3s coming fast enough to deal with Goner. Instead, rasp away and don't bother healing - just revive. It'll take a while but afterwards you can just beat him to death and you're set. But THE hardest battle is, undoubtably, the IAF. Your options are limited and it's fight after fight before this guy. You need some luck here. Bolt2 with Gau is your best bet, and you need a bit of luck with which attacks it uses. Because you can't save between fights, this is a horribly frustrating battle. Zoneseek might help, but you might need the extra turn as well... It's tough. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I'd say Czar Dragon's pretty tough.
![]() Anyhoo, none of the bosses are really tough if you use the tools the game gives you. Yeah, I'd imagine they're alot tougher in a low-level game. I guess when I first played the game, Wrex-soul was pretty difficult. I didn't get what kinda message he was giving me, like "Sheathe your sword" in FFIV ![]() -------------------- |

None of the mentioned bosses are hard.
1) I think the real challenge is the dragon in Mt. Zozo. His magic attacks are extremely powerful for a relatively weak party at that time. 2) Wrexsoul is impossible for me without Vanish-X Zone. How the hell do you beat it???? 3) The second battle of the final four battles is rather hard sometimes if you don't keep up with curing. 4) Kefka is a joke. -------------------- I'VE HAD AN ETERNITY TO PONDER THE MEANING OF THINGS. So far, the only boss I've had trouble with is Ultros the first time, because he kept killing Banon. XD The others have been relatively easy, but I still have a few more to fight.

The first time I played through before I knew about esper stat boosting (I have a habit of leveling EXTREMELY excessively) the hardest boss I fought were the two magitek armors in Figaro the first time, believe it or not. I began my insane leveling habit at South Figaro, wiped out Vargas at around level 20, then did the turbo level trick on the Lete river to level 99...the rest of the game was a joke. I never level excessively now in FF6 though, because that ruins esper building in the end

I agree that Chadarnook was hard, but to me the most annoying fight was with Chupon/Ultros, I hate that sneeze attack! Hardest...for some reason those evil sttoges in Cyan's dream world stand out...they had that triple technique...It was just frustrating to me.

I, too, will also base my experiences from my (uncompleted) LLG..
So far the hardest boss I've fought was the cranes... On a side note I actually had trouble with No. 128 when I was about, what, 8? with level 15-16 characters; Then I beat it on my second try on my LLG... At least I know I improved... heh -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention. WrexSoul was difficult, definitely.
When I was a little 'un, I thought the fight where the only way you could win was when Sabin casted Blitz on the fellow at Mt. Koltz, because when they said "Push left, right, then left," I kept pushing the L/R buttons. I was too retarded to acknowledge the directional buttons. xD I didn't like Doomgaze, because he wouldn't just die in one hit. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. Larry, Curly and Moe! Well, they weren't hard really because I managed to beat them the second time, but I find constant status changes the most irritating thing ever. I hate that petrifying one! God that gave me the absolute shits.
Also, the tentacle monster in Figaro Castle, again for the irritating habit of using status changing attacks, the fact that they were all different elements and the way they kept snatching the characters so you couldn't attack with them. Then when they were released they usually had lost a lot of HP so you had to heal them, only for them to be captured once again. Probably the most time consuming and annoying battle ever. |

I agree with because. The hardest boss is the storm dragon if you fight him when you first reach Mt. Zozo. I think they expect you to come back and fight him later.

Actually The hardest monster in my opion is not a boss.
Intergir on Triangle Island in the WOB is rather difficult to servive even woith the doom trick. But I agree with Luna Wrexsoul is a freaking pain in the ass. Getting to him is even more of a pain. I always had problem in the magi-tek area. Damn looping over and over and over and over and over and... ARRGGGGG... Personally I'd rather not even bother with it except you have to do it in order to get an esper...Sigh... EDIT: And for those 3 that picked Whelk you should stop playing and go play something easier like Barny's Hide and Seek Adventure for the Genesis because you are too simple to be playing this game. ![]() This post has been edited by Bane King on 18th May 2006 05:08 -------------------- |

Picked the Magi Master.
If you have life 3, he's a piece of cake. But i've come to hate Locke and don't get him or his dang awesome esper. So I never have Life 3. Which means I have to Rasp him to death. That takes like 2 hours. I just really don't have the kind of patience. But I support those Wrexoul haters. I always just X-zone the flaming Ross Perots. So it would be hard to actually beat him fair and square. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. Mage Master. He's not terribly hard, just terribly annoying.
That, plus the fact that there's no save opportunities in the Tower AT ALL, and so it's not usually the battle with the Mage Master that does me in, as it is my attempt to get my drained party out of the tower in one piece. |
