Wow, I don't think I could have asked for two better matchups here. Seriously, I love it. I would have absolutely hated to even think of the thought of losing to the Cowboys or Eagles in the NFC Championship game, so I'm glad the Bears are going against the Saints, who I've felt sorry for long before the Hurricane Katrina stuff.
The Rex hate is pretty hilarious, as it's still going on in Chicago. People calling into the radio shows to bash Grossman when he played better than just about every quarterback all weekend and won the game for us. Everyone just wants to be right about Griese so much that they will root against the starting quarterback. Amazing really. So was the AP Press Relase: "Gould, Bears able to overcome shortcomings of Rex Grossman". Rex won the game. I'm a huge huge Peyton Manning fan and the Colts are my favorite team in the AFC. Conversely, I absolutely hate the Pats with every fiber of my being. I don't know what I'd like to see more, a Colts absolute beatdown with Manning throwing 5 TDs, or it coming down to a last second field goal for Vinieteri to rip Belichick and the Patriots throats out. Both would bring extreme joy to me. Though...if the Pats win I will hate life. You know that the Brady and Belichick Lovefest will reach unheardof proportions to the point where it's sickening. And I sure as heck don't want to play the Pats in the Super Bowl because the leadup will be all 1985 stuff, though I wouldn't mind beating them 46 to 10 again. My campus is 120 miles from Chicago and 65 miles from Indianapolis. The Colts/Bears rivalry goes all throughout the season, and now they're meeting in the Super Bowl? I'm kissing my school goodbye, it'll be long gone, burnt down by the time this is over.

(Colts 28, Bears 27) I'm going to agree with Neal's prediction on this one as I feel the Colts has the drive to take it after taking down the Patriots. The Bears have admittedly been playing increasingly well of late, but I just don't think it'll be enough this time. Colts take the Superbowl. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

Seeing as how the Chargers decided to suck it up earlier, I'm going with Manning getting a ring finally.

The Saints-Bears game was apinful to watch.
why'd you choose to practice on turf and indoors. Those fumbles in the first half gave the bears momentum and robbed it from the saints. The Colts-Pats game was exciting Peyton Manning's Playoff balls finally dropped. Which is why I'm picking the Colts to win. Quote The Colts-Pats game was exciting Peyton Manning's Playoff balls finally dropped. You win the internet, sir. When his career is over and done with, Manning will be mentioned in the same breath as Marino, Montana, Unitas, the greats. That's regardless of if he wins a SB or not, though a SB ring or four wouldn't hurt. In unrelated news, Vick will be playing for the Raiders next year, and Shaub will be throwing to Randy Moss. ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

As much as I think Vick has an incredible amount of potential, the man is weighed down by more ego than most of the NFL combined. I've always been behind them, despite their last few years of mild sucking, and I'd say that here's hoping he can put aside his ego and help them become the team they should be, but who would I be kidding? Still, I have faith in the Raider Nation that we'll eventually rise again. Until then, there'll always be next year and the year after that...and the year after that. I'm curious to see who the Giants pick up to replace Tiki Barber, be it rookie, trade or whatever. If they do go rookie, I'm hoping it's not another Eli-styled player. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

nice games this weekend
![]() Colts 28 Bears 19 Manning throws for 500 yards! 1 TD, 4 INTs! Vinatieri is MVP! the raiders story seems pretty interesting, but I think that JaMarcus Russell will be throwing to Randy Moss in ATL. Gotta give Dungy and Manning their credit. They outplayed the Bears on every side of the ball. Not that that took that much effort today, with how much effort the Bears put out there. If I wasn't personally invested with one team, I'd probably be complaining about the quality of the game. Oh well. Let's lock up Lovie and and Lance Briggs and be back next year.

Nice prediction Baralai The Colts definately played the game like Superbowl Champions should. i'm proud of them. I had a drinking game going on where every time Grossman screwed up or made a bad play call, I had to take a shot. Needless to say by the end of the first quarter, I was trashed.
I wish I had put money down on this game, because I was the only person at the party I attended who was pulling for the Colts. Any team that can trash the Patriots deserves my support. Seeing them take out the Bears so nicely too? Well, they've definitely upgraded themselves in my books, significantly. That was a fun game to watch. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |
