NOTE :im not trying to mix my religious beliefs into this...i just want these kids to be noticed and helped...now back to the main subject

life is a gift from God

children in Africa have recived that gift BUT people are mulipunating, distorting, and useing that gift to desrtroy.

they are abducting children and teaching them to destroy lives

thats all

many children are murdered, starved, and beaten

just for sheding a tear because they miss thier familys

some are killed to be an example to others

even if they didnt do anything

these children still praise God for protecting them another day

some would rather die than live like they do right now

many are mentally distorted because of the chaos in thier lives

i do feel like God is calling me to go over there and help them in the future

and im willing to give my life to save all of thiers

but i cant change the world...nor can i do this alone

so please give them your time at...

www.InvisibleChildren.com

...they need your help

theyre people too

Easy there, Bono.

It's a shame, yes that these sorts of thing go on in the world, but do you really think we should be fixing those problems when our own countries are still full of homeless, sick and malnourished people all the same? I think thanks to Oprah and Bono and other people, suddenly helping people in Africa and third world countries has become a huge trend. Not that I'm against it, I mean, if in the end you're doing good, you're doing good and leave it at that, right? Still, they do the same thing in a lot of war-torn countries. Are we going to step in an take care of all of them, too? If so, do you really think these organizations can rally up that kind of funding? I don't know about you but I don't have that much faith in people.

I think before you solve someone else's problems you should solve your own and all the same, sometimes despite how horrible something is, there's not a whole lot you can do. More so, a lot of people talk big about wanting to make a difference or to contribute to helping those in need but stop and turn back once self-convenience becomes jeopardized. I don't think anyone will dispute life being precious but you can't step in everywhere there is trouble and save everyone.

First off, I am Atheist, so if I ever offend someone with my views, you will know why.

Anyway, this is contreversial, but I think us in the Developed West are to blame for a lot of Africa's problems. First off, the European powers started the whole deal when they paraded around the continent "civilizing" the natives and taking large chunks of land for themselves. Then, when they finally decided to give back the land to the native people, they didn't help set up governments or make sure that dictators didn't come to power - no, they just abandoned their own responsibility.

Today, arms dealers sell guns and bombs to African dictatorships, just making the whole deal worse. Our celebrities then have the arrogance to make these phoney "aid pledges" when they barely make any contribution at all.

I make no claim to be a saint, but it still disgusts me.

Thank you, and good day.

Edit
Bugger, my mind is gone. Please ignore the previous claim that I am Christian. I was rushed for time and had to get the post typed up quick. I still can't believe I wrote such a dumb thing.

I'm all for helping the impoverished, wherever they may be found.

Having said that, I believe that we should look within our own borders first before trying to help a country half a world away.

I do feel for those poor children, though. sad.gif

First off, try not to make your message look like a generic chain e-mail by having everything double-spaced like that.

Second off, if I could set everything right in this world by myself, I would do so immediately. If only I could and had the time, opportunity, and resources to do that.

it's not just children in Africa that abduction and being trained to kill has happened to, it's happened in numerous countries across the world.

And I'm quite curious as to how you know that this is all they're reactions, they live in a world where this is what occurs for them, to some this very well could be normal, some may even be proud to join an armed organization.

And even if you go to help, not all of them can be helped. That'd be giving a lot of them a false hope of being saved by America,
a similar thing happened to Ho Chi Minh, who later became the leader of North Vietnam. He went and asked president Woodrow Wilson for help on dealing with the French in Vietnam, and Wilson completely ignored him.
Dissent for America has spawned because people were expecting help from America, but Help never came.

They're are also many other disturbing organizations in the world, such as the sex slave trade.

If you want to go and help, you have every right to, it's your choice. But I'd look to help people within my own country first.

A great way to help people is to become a doctor or nurse, and spend some time (months to years) practicing medicine in places like Africa that need help.

And, if you're going to be spreading these messages, you really, really need to put this through a spell checker. People will not take you seriously with typos and poor spelling everywhere. Here's an example:

You wrote "children in Africa have recived that gift BUT people are mulipunating, distorting, and useing that gift to desrtroy."

It should be "Children in Africa have received that gift, but people are manipulating, distorting and using that gift to destroy."

You don't even need to mention god or that life is a "gift". But that's up to you.
