It's January 1st, beginning of the New Year and most of you are kindling the century-old tradition of waking up in the wee morning hours, slumping off that New Year's hangover, and flippin on the old telervision to watch that great American spectacle - The Rose Parade, of course. Right? Sure.
You keep your groggy eyes open long enough to see the first five spots of the Parade, then up comes number six. The Kingwood Texas Mighty Mustang Military Marching Band (KM4B), with a certain 6th chair trumpetere named AJ Sherick. Now, all dramatics aside, yes, I really am going to be in the frickin' Rose Parade, waking up at 4:05 in the stinking morning to march 5.3 miles down whatever the stupid road in Pasadena is. What a joy, eh? I guess it's worth it, there is a Disneyland there, right? Plus we get to go on a float viewin', which will be shown on HGTV. Hm...now to close the post with a point... Wish me luck. -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

Hmm, maybe I'll watch it this year then. I've never watched the Rose Parade, only the Macy's Day Parade.

That is awesome, man.
I jsut thought of something! Can you do something for us at home watching on TV to let us know who you are in the crowd? A little hand signal or body movement, maybe? That would be kickass to be watching the band and see a quick movement from you to know that that is you, the dude that I talk to online. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Being on TV is awesome. Being on TV because you're talented is even better.

Thanks everyone. Just got back last night, had an awesome time.
Hamedo: no, we weren't aloud to put anything oon our uniforms, but even better, on HGTV, I got a close-up at the beginning of our segment Also, while visiting the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, we ran into a film crew from G4TV. A few of us were there to get in an interview, and show off a couple marching moves. I didn't get an interview, but tonight on Attack of the Show, watch when a group of us are standing together about to be called to attention. I'm on the left, towards the back, and wearing a black Old Navy sweater. Edit They didn't actually show that specific clip on the show, so I would imagine they have it on their website somewhere. But those people they interviewed in the ugly highlighter-green shirts, they're from the band. Did you get to meet that hottie from AotS? I like Morgan from X-Play better, but both are cuties.
Sounds like you had a great time, man. I'm happy for you and the experience you got to have. Sounds like it was a blast! -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |
